5.0 out of 5 stars You need to own this! 11 Oct 2012
Format:Audio CD|Amazon Verified Purchase
I also got my album thanks to JPU Records, but because of that, I had to wait one more month. But it was all worth it! The way the songs are following each other is just genius. The atmosphere the almbum makes is so somber and beautiful, and really just makes you feel every second of each song.
You can clearly hear they have made something new and original, but still recognize their style and RUKI's beautiful voice that just makes you feel.
I can't name one favorite of the album, there are too many good songs, but the ones that stand out most to mee are YOIN, GABRIEL ON THE GALLOWS, DRIPPING INSANITY, HEDERO, ATTITUDE and DERANGMENT. Practically named most of the songs, but they are really good and cathcy, even though I have no idea what RUKI is singing. Even when he sings in English, but I just love it to death.
Mony definetly well spent!

5.0 out of 5 stars Another solid entry into the GazettE's library 15 Oct 2012
Format:Audio CD|Amazon Verified Purchase
Division is The GazettE's sixth studio album but is the first to have a official physical CD release in the UK thanks to the new record label JPU records. Hopefully if this album sells well we can have more albums by other Japanese bands both major and indie.

Division contains 12 songs and none of them have been released previously in any other release such as a single or in a EP which is rare for a Japanese band to do but it gives this record a better flow, songs go from one to another and feel like they fit together nicely.

In every new album that The GazettE make they experiment with something new, in Division the members of the band clearly had fun messing around with heavy electronic sounds. Songs such as "Gabriel on the Gallows", "attitude" and "derangement" include some form on synth that add to the atmosphere of the album, in the track "attitude" the Gazette experiment with some light dubstep in the post-chorus section and as someone that absolutely loaths dubstep...... I effin love that song and it is easily my favourite track off of the album.
Even though there is a focus on bringing electronic sounds into the album it manages to retain the GazettEs unique sound and each member of the band plays extremely well, the instruments aren't overshadowed in anyway by the synth as shown in the tracks "ibitsu"and "required malfunction".

There are 2 fantastic ballads "Yoin" and "Kagafumi" each one has a solo that some might consider to be one of the guitarist's best, there is also a track called "Kago no Sanagi" that to me feels like a hybrid of a song found in the albums NIL and stacked rubbish.

While it isn't the best album that The GazettE has made it is a solid album Sith no faults and can easily sit high in the bands pantheon.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great album 14 Oct 2012
By RKM
Format:Audio CD|Amazon Verified Purchase
I've been listening to the album so many times that I've lost count. All their songs are great and the booklet comes with English and Romanji lyrics too. I love their art and music direction as well. It's very affordable and it's definitely worth buying.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Gazetteish experiment 10 Oct 2012
By Pål
Format:Audio CD|Amazon Verified Purchase
The Gazette's a japanese visual kei jrock/alternative rock/metal band whose style has developed steadily over the years. DIVISION is their latest creation and here they experiment with some electronic sounds. However, their soul is still clearly there and you can really recognize the old Gazette in Ruki's voice, both as he screams and as he sings the ballads. Reita, Kai, Uruha and Aoi are extremely tight playing, which raises the album to another level. I found that the album immediately topped my Last.fm.

I highly recommend this album! A special thanks goes to JPURecords; they are the reason this album is even sold in the UK. They worked very hard for it.
