Product Description
The newest addition to Footprint's burgeoning series of activity guides, "Diving the World", takes the underwater adventurer on a magical tour of many of the world's top dives. Some 200 prime sites have been carefully selected, reviewed and photographed by experienced husband-and-wife team, Beth and Shaun Tierney. From the pristine reefs of Papua New Guinea to the warm waters of the Belize Barrier Reef and the legendary wrecks of Micronesia's Truk Lagoon, there's something for everyone. The guide also features personal opinions and anecdotes from both experts and other divers, as well as recommendations of what to do and see on dry land.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic new guide, 16 April 2006
By Mr. K. Rumney - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This book has been a great asset in helping me choose and book my next few dive trips. It's full of ideas of places to go plus lots of practical stuff but what has really made it the perfect book for me is that the authors really understand what divers want. They say they have been to every place in the book and done every dive. Once you start reading you can tell they have and that makes this book worth having. The style is factual but the "real deal" shows through. Plus the dive pictures are great

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent book, 16 May 2006
By Dive Chick (United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
This book is excellent, it gives a great idea of the best places to visit and why you should visit them.
The chapters on each area are a great read, but what most appealed to me was the chapter on essentials - it tells you exactly what you need to know when planning a trip.
Well recommended book - every diver should have a copy!

1.0 out of 5 stars Diving the Tropics, 22 Jul 2007
By DiveDoc "Tim" (Solihull, UK) - See all my reviews
I was disappointed in this book. The authors have done a lot of diving, but world-class dives that they haven't visited or don't like are omitted and some of their comments, notably about Nitrox diving, are very controversial. I'm an underwater photographer and a medical doctor, so I have a little experience in these areas: a book that misses out the Sudanese Red Sea and Bikini Atoll and yet claims to be a guide to tropical diving is incomplete, at best. The authors say "if you really wanted to know about the English Channel, we didn't do it. It wasn't on anyone's list"; maybe, but the Californian Channel Islands, South Africa, New Zealand, Cocos and Malpelo are cool water locations on many divers' wish-lists (and there are some who are even interested in Scapa Flow!).

What's in the book is very good, but to go Diving the World you need to look elsewere. I recommend Monty Halls' "Dive" and Jack Jackson's "Diving with Sharks" as good places to start.
