I could barely wait to purchase this book. It is extremely well done! The paper quality is of the highest quality. The layout is stunning. The book is a perfect companion for anyone attending a Russian Orthodox Church. Because it is a dual language book - Church Slavonic on the left, English on the right - following the important texts of the Divine Liturgy is easy. For those who attend Russian Orthodox parishes which combine Church Slavonic and English the dual language book is a fantastic guide making the worship experience more meaningful.
I have only one reservation about this marvelous book. It's very small, smaller than almost any paperback book. For those who own the "(Jordanville) Prayer Book" for comparison this book matches the height of that prayer book but the width is barely four inches on the outside. Inside the pages are only three and a half inches wide. There are two reasons I find this size difficult to use: 1. The print is very small, an eye strain for those who have to wear glasses. 2. Because the binding is tight and the pages very narrow the book is difficult to keep open. It's possible with time the spine will break and become more flexible making the book easier to keep open.
I would very happily pay twice as much for a book 25% larger.
Please don't let my difficulty with the size of this wonderful book keep you from buying and using it. It's far too valuable to pass up. I have no doubt this will be one of the greatest selling books made by the "Printshop of t. Job of Pochaev" at Holy Trinity Monastery, Jordanville, New York.
