This version is very difficult to navigate. My advice is to download a different one... that's what I shall be doing

5.0 out of 5 stars Divina Comedia 20 Jan 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Is a very good book, that requires a high level of understanding, written in an old version of English, but a masterpiece of her epoch. It also came in a very good format, easy to read and with no missing parts. I would recommended to my family and friends.

This is classic that everyone knows but can be very complex. Longfellows translation is very user-friendly and easy to read.

4.0 out of 5 stars Dante's Inferno 11 July 2013
By Jessica L. Gumpher - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I decided to read this book because I am reading Dan Brown's Inferno, I never had the chance to enjoy this book while in school! Divine Comedy is a different kind of read than I normally like, however, it was extremely interesting and worth the time!

3.0 out of 5 stars Better out there 27 Aug 2013

This gets 3 stars for having Longfellow associated with it. But the poetry doesn't flow well today. Please check out the Ciardi translations. I read this series in college and by comparison Longfellow's is clumsy and hard to read. Great literary work well worth the time it takes to read and reflect on it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best translation there is. 23 Sep 2013
By Linda Morelli - Published on Amazon.com

Highly recommend for anyone wanting to read Dante's masterpiece. Longfellow's translation is the one most recommended to me and, after reading it, I can see why. Easy to read, clear and concise without loosing the original intent of the author.
5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, worth weathering the archaicisms 20 Jun 2014
By K. Douglas Anderson - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is a wonderful, graceful translation of Dante. It is clear and muscular and riveting. I don't even mind the occasional bit of archaic language. He still competes with Pinksy and Musa and Carson and others. If you love Dante and want to hear him played on yet another instrument, it is a great read.
5.0 out of 5 stars Got all three! 10 Feb 2014

I enjoyed reading all three books. I started the series, but at the time I did not have access to all three. I got these copies for free to boot. No complaints here.
