Product Description
An hilarious account of a couple of wannabe mountain bikers as they race from Canada to Mexico.
'Occasionally I get a book that I can’t put down or in this case, to be more precise my Kindle e book! This is one of those books you are drawn through the pages wondering what will happen next…it’s written in a light-hearted style which makes it very entertaining to read – however – this often tends to mask the extreme nature of this trip. This is not a weekend in Scotland or even a trip to the Alps. The ride tackles the extremes of riding above 10,000ft for prolonged periods, camping in the wild with bears for company and make shift repairs on the hoof. John is an extremely skilful story teller and while the language is a bit rich at times, he manages to construct a tale encompassing the social and political history with the geography of the regions as they proceed from day to day. The quietly festering alpha male rivalry with JK runs through the story but thankfully they still seem to be friends. Frankly, I can’t think of many people I would want to spend so much time with particularly with the close and intimate confines of a shared tent! Buy it now if you have the technology – you won’t be disappointed!' – THE JOURNAL OF CYCLE COACHING
