Book was obviously NOT written by a cook!28 Jan. 2014

This book is awful, it is supposed to be a cookbook but there is very few recipes in here- a couple cookies and banana bread, none of the recipes are written well & they are extremely hard to understand for children. Most of the recipes include a highly not safe for kids element, like cooking a component on the stove, I can think of a ton of recipes for cookies and other baked & non-baked goods that DO NOT need a stove. The ingredients are measured out (most of the time) in ounces, dry and liquid alike!! 2 1/3 oz of Brown Sugar is ridiculous!!! It's like they just made it up as they went along. I've made multiple recipes from this book at the insistence of my little sister (4 years old) and every single time I've had to make major modifications in order to salvage the finished product. It's a good thing I've done my fair share of baking before otherwise none of these recipes would have turned out to be edible. I don't recommend this book to ANYONE especially kids!
I didn't buy this from amazon, my little sister received it as a gift for her birthday, I don't know where it was originally purchased but it is so awful that I wanted to write a review here on amazon to warn anyone thinking that this would be a good purchase. Spend a little extra and get a cookbook for the kid from a more well known COOKING brand.
