Product Description

TRON Evolution is one of the keys to unlocking the TRON mythology The game's story takes place before the film begins. The game's release prior to the film means fans get time to experience the new TRON world on a next-gen game platform. The TRON film features dialogue and story that will connect to its story's past, which players will experience in the video game In the game, you play as a program named "Anon" (Anonymous) and as you venture through the TRON world discovering the reason behind the Abraxas viral outbreak, you'll see locations, vehicle and weapons unique to the Evolution video game as you make new allies and new enemies. TRON Evolution stars Olivia Wilde as Quorra and Bruce Boxleitner as Tron, reprising their roles from the upcoming Tron: Legacy. The collaboration between the film development story and the film production is significant. Propaganda maintained a close collaboration with the film producers to understand details on the aesthetics of the TRON world and story of the franchise - frequent meetings took place in Vancouver during principal shooting and the relationship continues to be tight during game production and film post-production. Director Joseph Kosinski plays a key role in collaborating on the creation of the game. He's consulted on the look and gameplay.

4.0 out of 5 stars Elec Tron ic 6 Nov 2011

Fun: 3.0 out of 5 stars
I had a really hard time playing this game. It looks great, but there is very little to no time to look at the graphics. The action is fast paced and the 'parkour' controls are well timed button combinations, difficult to get to grips with which means you will end up derezzed a lot of the time. This does not make for a fun game. However the redeeming features are a very pretty enviroment (when you get to see it) with some good puzzles. The fact that I loved Tron, 2.0 and Legacy meant that this was a must buy. I would have loved to see some of the old game and movie characters making a comeback, old locations and less jumping everywhere. There was a lot of history with the game and movies which was skipped, ignored or written over.
Another with the 'no manual allowed' auto-save. When did I loose the choice when I want to save my game?
If you can get to grips with those controls, it will keep you well amused. I'll keep it and give it another try...

Edit; Okay, it's been a while and I've just come back to this game. Oh dear, it's not good... when you start to look at the sheer number of control moves you're supposed to try to remember
(disc hits; right click[+3 special hit]) (ctrl+F; floor bash)
(sprint; shift [Disc storm; hold shift+right click+3])
(disc block; ctrl [after hit; hold ctrl+right click+3]) etc...
I've got myself (with sheer luck) into a room with a derezzing floor, a time limit to get out, multi bad guys to kill and a special combo move to get out... what the hell was the special combo move??? I've looked everywhere to find the special combo move and it's either just really hard to find or not listed. The game offers NO help (i.e; you've failed this level 7 times, program, you got scuzzy memory?;) this is just annoying to the point of yelling. I think I'll just give up.
Hack off another star, derez game time...
