This book is aimed at Grade 1-3 ability. My daughter could pick out some of the tunes , which she could play and she is grade 1.
There is also a CD which comes with the book, this was excellent as it gives the rhythm and beat of the songs to help the player get the timing correct.

Disney Solos is a great flute music book. It includes lots of the best Disney tunes including Under the Sea (the Little Mermaid), Reflection (Mulan), You've Got a Friend in Me (Toy Story) and I Just Can't Wait to be King (The Lion King) to name a few.

The music is relatively easy to play but can look a little scary when you are confronted with up to 5 flats in some pieces. However, when you actually attempt them you find that the number of flats drops to around 2 after a few bars and it suddenly becomes much more approachable. It is also quite helpful to know what the sharps/ flats translate as - for example I find D flats a lot harder to get my head round than C sharps (and they are exactly the same thing just with a different name).

The CD that comes with this book is great and the best you can get outside the Guest Spot series (also highly recommended). It includes backing tracks with and without prompts so you can drop the prompts when you become more used to the pieces.

If you are a beginner (I was working towards Grade 2 when I first bought this book) this is a great way to get you started and the songs are a whole lot more fun to play than other songs flute players are usually started out with - need I mention Three Blind Mice?

Not great for a beginner. Includes lots of flats and some of the pieces need the third octave. Cd is nice as it has backing music and backing music with prompts. Lovely tunes once you've mastered them.

Although this is disney music it is definitely not for a beginner. The notes are very high and would need in my opinion around 3 years plus experience. A great book though if you are at that level.

This book was purchased for a just 10 year old granddaughter who had passed grade 2 flute. She is now heading towards grade 3. She absolutely loves this book. It has some tricky music (so I am led to believe), but with the CD to play along with she manages very well. Her teacher was off sick for a while so my granddaughter amused herself learning some tunes by herself. She is more than anxious to show off her party pieces whenever anyone wants to listen. Her flute teacher was very impressed with the book and has bought one for herself to use with her pupils. Highly recommended - although the user may need to be very keen.

This was bought for GF who wanted some more music to play on her flute. The arrangements in this are very good, in some cases you get two different arrangements, for example "Can You Feel The Love Tonight", you get the version from the film, and then a version as performed by Sir Elton. This is very good for a solo performer so you can play the piece as a song and it works better for performance.
The only critism i have of the book is it has no backing CD, although the piano accompaniment book is avaliable seperatly.
I'd say this would be good for an intermmediate player, the music isn't that tricky so a if you are fairly decent on the flute you'd be able to progress quite quickly though the book and produce good results.
Highly recommmend this book to you, and if you are going to be performing this i suggest you get the accompainment book as well.
