It's a shame that one or two reviewers cite negative experiences with this night-light/torch as we have had a great experience with ours. In fact we have three different styles of the same torch and all have worked brilliantly for at least three years - and have been pretty much constantly in use.
My six year old has been into Disney Princesses for over four years and this was ideal for her. It must be pretty robust as it has survived several drops, attempts to take it apart and the arrival of her marauding baby brother! The charge seems to last for ages and the night-light aspect has been really useful - even if the torch has often been used for surreptitious after-hours reading.
All in all this product comes highly recommended by our family and I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one - although the quality means I probably won't ever have to!

My Six year old daughter loves this night light. Can be used simply as a night light and once lifted from its base can be used as a torch. Bought it originally to help my daughter settle in the dark and it has done the trick. A very practical and easy to use item - which any little princess would love!

Was purchased to replace exactly the same item bought from another retailer that failed within a few months. Please ensure you read the instructions properly before use - you have to charge up fully and let run down completely at least once then charge up fully again before using as lamp/torch properly. It is a lovely bedside lamp with ideal amount of light and has the added bonus of a fun torch for your little girl to use (this also gives off a decent amount of light - I have read bedtime stories to my little one using just the torch).
