Product Description

Manufacturer's Description

The Disney Princess Magic Wand Game is a magical board game that includes a light up and movement-activated magic wand, a beautiful cardboard 3D palace and pink magic gates that open when touched by the magic wand. The magic wand is activated when a player waves the wand elegantly like a Princess would, and this begins the players turn. The aim of this fairy tale game is to be the first Princess to reach the palace gates and tap them gently using the magic wand to see them open. If you are the first Princess to open the gates, you have won the honour of opening the Grand Ball by dancing with the Prince. When it’s your turn, wave the magic wand and listen carefully to what the Fairy Godmother tells you to do , making your way around the magical-garden playing board in order to be the first to reach the palace gates. You will come across magic spells, moving pathways and magic playing squares which might help or hinder your progress. But try to avoid landing on the squares with the evil characters on – they will make you miss a turn! The Disney Princess Magic Wand game is suitable for children aged 3 and above and can be enjoyed by 2 – 4 players. Batteries required are 2 x AAA.

I bought this game for my 4 year old this christmas. She has played it many times already and still giggles when the wand says "beautiful princess" or similar. It was easy to put the game together and the wand takes the role of dice and instructions without the need for child to be able to read. There is one bone of contention..the wand sometimes offers the player to swap place with another. This has caused a few tantrums as she feels it's unfair, especially when it is her winning. Other than that the game is a very simple to use, cute little game for younger children who love Disney Princess. Not a great game for older children and the wands "your royal highness" or "beautiful princess" can grate on the nerves after a while.

I bought this a couple of months ago, both my daughter and son love this game. Keeps them entertained for hours and nicer than them watching tv or playing window games. Bring back good old fashion board games I say! Simple game play means grandparents, aunts, uncles can get involved too. Nothing too technical!

This was a Xmas present for my daughter. She is 5. This game is a lovely starter game for my daughter & once shown how to play she can play alone with her friends when they came to play. It's the wand she loves the most :)

This is a brilliant game for any little princess out there. It's fun, not too complicated. easy to set up and the characters are very good quality, I'd recommend to anyone wanting to get a princess game for their little princesses

I bought this game for my 4yr old niece and she loved it. Initially is is tricky to set up especially when you have an impatient 4 yr old trying to get the pieces off of you. The rules are simple and easy to follow and the result is very entertaining even for adults. I would definitly recommend this game for 3 or 4 with supervision.

Bought as a christmas day game to play with grandaughter but board was cumbersome to fit, game was over complicated and magic wand proved awkward to use. Very disappointing esepcially to have disney name attached to it. Had more fun with a pack of playing cards. My recommendation is sorry but dont buy it!

This was a Christmas present for my 4 year old and she loves it.

The objective is to take your chosen princess (there are 4: Cinderella, Belle, Sleeping Beauty & Snow White) through the garden to the castle. Each player takes it in turns to wave the magic wand which gives directions, "Beautiful Princess, I grant you to move 4 steps" or words to such effect! There are the 'evil' spaces (such as the wicked step-mother from Cinderella) which cause you to lose a turn, rotating gardens (so you can advance - or not!), magic spaces which protect you from possible magic/being swapped places, and magic wand spaces which 'grant' an extra turn!

I have to say that this game can cause tantrums, as one reviewer mentions, to those children who don't like losing but it is a simple but effective game to learn how to take turns, think and be a 'graceful' loser/winner!

My only criticism, and the reason for the 4 stars, is the wand doesn't always work properly and there is no volume control (it is too loud to be held next to the ear). You have to shake it hard to hear the music before it gives the instructions and it often needs a good shake. The positive is there is a little star button which repeats the instructions incase it isn't understood the first time.

Please note: It is made of cardboard so it won't take a lot of heavy handling, there are small parts (the 4 Princesses and 2 Jewels) can be lost easily, and have batteries at hand to avoid disappointment: x2 AAA which go in the wand!

Overall a good game to teach younger ones the art of moving around a board ( my 4-year old moves 6 spaces instead of the given 3!!!!), thinking which way to go and taking turns!

My daughter received this game as a gift. After only playing the game for 10 minutes, the wand lost its sound. The lights are still working, but you won't get directions, without the sound. I tried different batteries, but problem not fixed.

I got into contact with Jumbo and they are going to send me a new wand, so we can finish/play the game. I just hope it does not stop working again as my 3 year old was really dissapointed!
