I knew I was paying over the odds for the Disney Singing Elsa Doll from Frozen but there was nowhere in the UK to get it at tve correct RRP on time for my granddaughter's birthday. Having paid over the odds I was therefore disappointed to find that the box was bashed on arrival and that the doll's singing sensor to be much less sensitive than that of the Singing Anna from Frozen doll I had previously purchased from Disney for my grandaughter.
That said, the delight on her face when she received Elsa on her birthday was priceless.

My daughter loves this doll.
Valued at £25 in the Disney store but was out of stock when I needed it, so had no choice but to pay more.

Love it! And about the "off switch" issue many talk about... 21 Jan 2014

There IS an off switch on the upper thigh of this doll (as well as the signing Anna). At first, we thought we were going to hate this toy as it just kept on singing and signing whenever it sensed motion. We've also heard a lot of others complain about "not being able to turn this off". Just look for the little on/off switch and your love for this beautifully designed doll will remain. PS: the song and vocals are from the movie, so it truly is beautiful and on-key. You'll love it. Your kids will love it. Just remember that there IS an on/off switch!

Nice 6 Jan 2014

I bought this at a pretty high price, but wanted to get it before it could go up any higher as it was no longer available in the Disney Stores.

As for the doll, I noticed from looking at a good amount of photos online that both the Elsa and Anna 16" look to have practically the same molds as the LE dolls. Made with some different materials (they don't light up and whatnot, but they have a bit nicer plastic/material and the painted faces are fancier along with the hair), but you can even interchange the clothes if you have them both.

Elsa's arms light up and whatnot if you have her on (very glad there is an on/off switch or else I would have likely removed the batteries - I forgot to turn it off one night and just about had a heart attack passing the Anna doll in the morning). It is motion activated if you have lighting that allows it (my room gets pretty dim early because of the trees by my house so I actively have to try and get them to sing if I want them to). She sings about four lines of Let It Go - it would have been nice if she finished the verse as it is only about half, but that is rather trivial. It is only Elsa's voice, not the background music of the song. Her speaker is on her back. Hair has lots of holding gel, but unless you are touching it and feeling the hardness, it doesn't look stiff. No snowflakes in her hair like in the movie and on the LE doll, but the hair fibers are nice and soft even in the braid.

The dress is alright - the 12" version is much nicer and has a lot more detail, much like the LE dress. The sheer fabric isn't a great choice - it tears pretty easy along the grain of the fabric and I noticed a half inch tear in the back that I am fairly certain I did not cause as I haven't handled the doll very much and I think it was probably the packaging that caused it. I sew doll clothes so I didn't mind terribly since I plan on making a more detailed on more like the movie anyways (really only bought these dolls for the doll, not the clothes). It isn't an ugly dress, just not the level of detail I would like. However, the Anna dress is much better in getting all the details (though she doesn't have the cloak, hat, or gloves). Elsa's shoes are awful. I'm going to try and make some that actually resemble her shoes. The ones you get are just solid blue and are generic shoes, nothing like her ice shoes in the movie. Anna's are the actual boots and much nicer (they have a crack down the back so you can remove them). I'm assuming they skimped on Elsa's since her dress covers them whereas Anna's were pretty key in her outfit.

Despite the price being a bit much, I don't regret buying the doll. I do regret not buying her in store earlier so I would have paid a better price. As I didn't buy her for her clothes and the shoes, I'm not lowering the rating from five stars though as the doll itself is very nice and why I bought it.

Don't do it.... 1 July 2014

The dress ripped within days of owning it, never mind the fact that song plays based on light and movement. Yay, thanks Disney. We absolutely enjoyed spending so much money on a doll that didn't hold up well, and only sang a few seconds of one song from the movie, yup, yay... we have the Anna one too, same story just the doll has a different name. This was a flop by Disney.

Beautiful Doll! Wait and buy for the right price. 11 Dec 2013
By Kristin J. Hendrick - Published on Amazon.com
The Elsa Singing doll from the Disney Store is a beautiful replica of the character from the movie. The doll is large, the hair detail is good (better than the cheaper dolls), and she sings "Let It Go" from the movie (the Idina Menzel version, not the Demi Lovato version). I also like her dress. The detail is not painted on for the bodice, as in the cheaper dolls. All around great doll.

Beware, however: the music from the doll is motion activated. It's a bit unnerving when the room is completely quiet and something tiny moves and sets off the loud singing from the doll.

Also, the Disney Store has these in stock right now (11 December at 0735). It is only 39.95 at the Disney Store. I would buy it from there to discourage scalping.

Perfect 22 Jan 2014
By D. Lofland - Published on Amazon.com

My daughter-in-law found out just before Christmas that she had bought the wrong Elsa doll for my 8 year old granddaughter. She had searched all over the Dallas area and could not find one. She called me from one of the stores and I got on the computer and went to Amazon to see if you had one. She was overjoyed when I told her you did and asked that I pay the extra $5.99 for the guarantee to receive it on 23 Dec. Even though it did not arrive until the 24th she was overjoyed that Santa was able to bring the doll that night. When I notified you that we did not receive the doll on time I received an immediate response and refund. Thank you.
