Cars 2: The Video Game will allow players to jump into the Cars universe with a brand new international spy theme. The game will feature an array of beloved Cars characters competing in action-packed spy adventures, as well as world-class racing.
Cars 2: The Video Game introduces the international training center for CHROME (Command Headquarters for Recon Operations and Motorized Espionage), where players choose from one of 25 different characters such as Mater, Lightning McQueen and the newly introduced Finn McMissile and Holley Shiftwell and train to become world class spies. As part of their international training, they will participate in simulated hazardous missions using high-tech gadgets to evade and slow down adversaries.
Cars 2: The Video Game will feature connectivity with the World of Cars Online – a free-to-play browser-based, virtual world based on the hit Disney•Pixar animated Cars universe. Players will be able to discover an exciting new world beyond Radiator Springs with Mater, Fillmore, Sarge, and others as they gain rewards in the video game and then use them to unlock new items in the World of Cars Online.

Inspired by the upcoming Disney Pixar animated film, Cars 2: The Videogame lets players jump into the Cars 2 universe with some of their favorite Cars personalities in exotic locations around the globe.
Continuing the storyline from the upcoming film, players can choose to play as Mater and Lightning McQueen, as well as some brand new characters, as they train in the international training centre - CHROME (Command Headquarters for Recon Operations and Motorized Espionage) to become world-class spies.
They'll take on dangerous missions, compete to become the fastest race car in the world, or use their spy skills in exciting, action-packed combat racing and battle arenas. Players can race against friends and family in either single or multiplayer modes with up to four players to unlock challenging new tracks, characters, events and thrilling spy missions.

Fun:
I'm not an avid gamer like some and I hadn't used the PS3 for a while when we set up a play room for the kids; so I thought I might as well move the PS3 in there for them to use.
My little lad who is 4 loves the Cars movies so I bought him the Cars 2 game to see how he would get on; he and his 6 year old sister love this game. The characters and the theme's are taken from the film really well and the various types of game provide some variety.
Must be honest, at 45 I love playing it too, there is lots to do, with trophies, badges and locked cars to try and gain, as a family game we love it, and watching the hand eye coordination build as the kids play the game I personally find ecouraging.
We do restrict it's use in order to do other activities, but as another reviewer quoted, on cold wet days it's a good way to have a bit of fun for a while.

This is pretty much everything you could ask for from a movie tie-in game for Cars 2. The mulitplayer of allowing 4 people to play together in a 2x4 split screen really ads to the enjoyment and playability. All your favorite Cars and Cars 2 characters are there, with some having multiple outfits or skins as well. The voice acting is great with special mention to Francesco Bernouli, I use him just to hear what he's going to say next. The single player campaigns are fun and increasingly difficult, but certainly not impossible for a 5 year old. There are tutorial stages that teach you all you need to know to drive and get in to the action. The multi-player abilities aren't available immediately though, you must progress through a few levels of the single player campaign in order to unlock the multi-player aspects. A small thing but worth mentioning. I also miss a bit of the original score from the movie. The music is great and certainly in keeping with what is going on, but that great Fin McMissile theme song is missing and would be a great addition. Overall, a great game worthy of the franchise. Well done Disney.

This was bought for my Cars mad son for his 7th birthday. I dont believe in encouraging a child to play on a playstaion or in front of the tv all day but its good for a rainy non school day. My son loves this like the last edition. He finds the instructions easy to follow and he does get into the game with ease. Great game and it was a great price from a seller.

This is a very good game for a child, my grandson is 4, it was easy for him to pick up, and keeps his interest for a long time.

Bought this as a Xmas present and my son (aged 10) loved it. Has a lot of different functions acquired as you progress.
