This book was very good at explaining what it meant. Through out the book there are two main people. One is a scientist and one is a privite eye. They explain all the things about your body. If you wanted to find out about a part of your body, then this is the book for you. Like his other books he still knows how to explain what he means and make it funny!!! He didn't write pages and pages of writing in one go, but wrote it bit by bit. So you didn't realise that you were reading so much in one go.

'In this book are some foul scientific secrets and disgusting discoveries with a hearty helping of belly-laughs, 'Disgusting Digestion' dishes up the dirt on your innards!'

152 pages, split over 13 chapters:-

Introduction
Disgusting discoveries
Disgusting digestive bits 'n' pieces
Foul food facts
Fatal food poisoning
Deadly digestive diseases
A horribly healthy diet
The mighty mouth
The staggering stomach
Disgusting gut feelings
Energetic enzymes
Going round the bend
Something to chew over (food for thought)

written, in a variety of fonts, in typical Nick Arnold style.

Example of text:-

'Enormous appetites':-

'The amount you eat depends on how big your stomach is. After all, you've got to put all that food somewhere. This is also controlled by a pea-sized lump on the underside of the brain called the hypothalamus (hi-po-thala-mus).
This signals to your brain when it's time to eat and when to stop. If you don't want to stop, then chances are that you're eating something you really enjoy. And if you don't want to start eating, then you're probably sitting in front of your school dinner.......'

Interspersed with fantastic fact files, quirky quizzes, teacher tests and 'Answers' (upside down!).
Black and white illustrations/cartoons throughout, as well as 'Bet you never knew' fact-boxes and 'Horrible Health Warnings'.

I thought this was a really good book and I would like to read more of them. I liked the the bit of the diary when inspector I private eye went inside the proffessor's stomach.
