Product Description

Product Description

This diary and handbook ensures that those noble defenders of the greatest city of the Discworld need never be late for a crime again. It is a fully-functioning diary with dates, holidays (including pagan holidays), notes and year planner. It also includes "Octedays", the "8th Discworld Day".

About the Author

Stephen Briggs lives in Oxford. As well as compiling THE DISCWORLD COMPANION and THE NEW DISCWORLD COMPANION, he has also co-authored the Discworld DIARIES, the MAPPS and has dramatised most of the Discworld novels. Paul Kidby discovered Terry Pratchett's Discworld in 1993 and since then has devoted his working life to the place. He is the illustrator of THE PRATCHETT PORTFOLIO, the bestsellers THE LAST HERO and THE ART OF DISCWORLD, as well as the Discworld DIARIES, cards, T-shirts, maps, mugs and, of course, the covers. Terry Pratchett is a publishing phenomenon. He has sold more than 65 million copies of his books worldwide, and among his many prizes and citations are the World Fantasy Award, the Carnegie Medal, the BSFA Award, eight honorary doctorates and, of course, a knighthood. Sir Terry Pratchett is best known for his Discworld series, set on a flat planet, supported on the backs of four elephants, who in turn stand on the back of the great turtle A'Tuin as it swims majestically through space. Four of these novels - Hogfather, Going Postal, The Colour of Magic and The Light Fantastic - have been adapted for television, with more to follow. He lives near Salisbury in Wiltshire.

oh, how I love this diary. It's become a rare collector's item, and if you see it available-don't hesitate to get it!
It's filled with Terry's very own special humour and Paul Kidby's pictures, which just seem to come right out of the head of an iconograph. Paul's Watch really *is* the Ankh Morpork City Watch!
Plus you get Vetinari's letter to the recruits, Vimes's speech, and endless requests for leafe from Corporal Nobbs who's busy burying his dozen or so grandmothers. Absolutely hilarious!

This is the prefect gift for any Pratchett fan, the illustrations are excellent, the anecdotes hillarious. The diary is based arround the Watch and involves the usual Ank Morpork population. A great way to get you through the new year !

All I can say is WOW. It's better than the '98 calendar that was excellent, it has wonderful illustrations and all of the stuff a good diary has. Brilliant.
