new album called Wig Out at Jagbags. Jagbag is a great word. A smeared aspersion, not profanity, but derived from one….. watered down for the airwaves, or the assembly line. To Wig out--we've all been there. We ARE there, at least i Am.

And the "I" on a record is speaking for/as/to you, so If you’re not wigging out, go no further, dear ... Read more in Amazon's Stephen Malkmus & The Jicks Store

5.0 out of 5 stars can't wait for the entree 23 Jan 2001
By "mikefrei" - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
I thought that all 3 songs were awesome. The whole CD had a real refined flavor. 'Discretion Grove' had a definite Pavement smell (to me, anyways), which is to say that it's pretty good. 'Sin Taxi' is also a good time. I think any hardcore Pavement or Malkmus fans will really appreciate this CD. I for one can't wait for the...
One side note: did anybody notice that there was/is a 'live' version of Sin Taxi floating around Napster? Over the summer, I picked up a poorly recorded bootleg of this song that included Malkmus giving a whole introduction. I had forgotten all about it, but I recognized that beat within the first 15 seconds... What a great surprise!

4.0 out of 5 stars Must Have Malkmus 25 Aug 2002
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
Will Malkmus continue in the tradition of Pavement and release excellent singles and EPs? It's too soon to tell, but this is a great indication of things to come. While Discretion Grove may have made for a mediocre single (it's still a great song), these two B-sides are top notch. "Leisurely Poison" is a short little bit of well structured indie-electronica; obviously an experimental track but one that succeeds, while "Sin Taxi" is a standard Malkmus solo track, but one that is relatively long and it is certainly good enough to have been on the album. That there are only two new tracks on this single is a bit disappointing, but at least they're stellar.

5.0 out of 5 stars 2 great b sides 8 April 2002
By Pen Name? - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
The best 2 b sides to come from the Malkmus singles.
leisurely poison always reminds me of a Beck b-side, and I'm not quite sure why? Neither of the songs are throw aways, certainly worth picking up for any big Malkmus of Pavement fan.

4.0 out of 5 stars Warning: Good, intelligent music within 25 Feb 2001
By "fathertoasisterofthought" - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
I recommend this to anyone who enjoyed Terror Twilight and/or its predecessor Brighten the Corners. The album itself is more like BTC, and this single bears more than passing resemblance to the music on the Shady Lane EP(very relaxed, I guess I mean). 'Discretion Grows' is not spectacular, but it is a solid track, and more rocking than you might expect. 'Sin Taxi', as other reviewers have said, is the best track. It IS spectacular and clearly outshines the other two songs. The single is worth getting for this song alone. So buy it.
Oh, and I've been searching for the live version of 'Sin Taxi', not having much luck. If someone has it and ICQ, please contact me. ICQ # 28585182
5.0 out of 5 stars 100% worth getting 26 Jan 2007

OK, I give this one five stars because if you're looking at this 3 song job it's probably because you already have malkmus' first full length and liked it.. if this is you, you might as well just get this. The b-sides are completely solid (which was not always the case with the mixed-bag pavement singles) and maybe even better than the album tracks. So if you liked the full length enough to search out the eps you will not be dissapointed with this one.

Admittedly, I agree that this isn't Malkmus' strongest solo stuff (I prefer pig lib), but c'mon, no person I know who is into pavement can agree on which songs are the best.. or even which albums (dare I say terror twilight is my favorite pavement lp??).

If for some reason you are looking at this item never having heard Malkmus or Pavement, quit being a cheapskate and just get a complete album already!
