Discovery at Rosehill by Kathryn Brown, 4 Aug 2011
This review is from: Discovery at Rosehill (Paperback)
Imagine moving into a house that is haunted. This is what happens to Medium Camilla Armstrong when she is led to the Rosehill country estate after communicating with her deceased Grandmother. The house is an old Georgian manor that is in need of some care and attention and the life putting back into it.
When Camilla first visits the house, she senses tranquillity and a gentle atmosphere and she feels an aura of warm colours around its walls. For her it is the missing piece of the jigsaw, the piece she has searched for all her life it is her dream come true what she feels she as been looking for so she decides to move in "your world you have to discover" her Grandmother tells her. It is not long after moving in that she experiences some paranormal activity and she tries to contact the spirits. She goes on to discover that the house contains a dark secret that will change her life forever.
It is not long before she meets the local Vicar the Reverend Marcus Calloway and their friendship soon develops into a romantic relationship but can a relationship between a medium and a vicar ever work? Especially after Camilla has more spirit contact and she finds out that Marcus has his own guilty secret.
This is a really well written paranormal romance it is not a scary read, just a really nice gentle and realistic story about the paranormal. I really enjoyed reading this book. I could not wait to see what happened when Camilla moved into the house and communicated with the spirit people. Also to find out the mystery of the house and I was not disappointed. The story keeps you interested so much that you do not want to put the book down. There is some great dialogue too between Camilla and the spirit people not at all cryptic! If you are into the paranormal, you will like this.

Kept Me Turning the Pages!, 7 Feb 2012
Discovery at Rosehill is a new type of book for me -- I usually shy away from novels having to do with the paranormal because my imagination goes wild! This novel, though, is more about the living characters than those existing in another realm, and I enjoyed the interaction Camilla, the main character, had with the spirits. Although there are some spooky moments, they only serve to add to the tension and pacing of the book, and they certainly kept me turning the pages for more. Author Kathryn Brown's writing flows naturally and the plot unfolds in a believable, very readable manner. A wonderful read.

The Best Book I've Read in Ages, 29 Jan 2012
Discovery at RosehillThis is the best book I've read in ages (and I read a lot of books). I read it in under 48hrs and couldn't put it down. It is incredibly believable in the author's descriptions of the relationship between the medium and the spirit world. Also the plot is not predictable and keeps you guessing right up to the end. A thoroughly enjoyable read and highly recommended to all.
