Product Description

Synopsis
The discovery of Noah's Ark is one of the greatest archaeological finds of the 20th century, solving a mystery that has puzzled scientists for many centuries. The story of the clues which led to its detection - not on Mount Ararat, as had been thought, but on Mount Mahser Dagi (the Doomsday Mountain) some 17 miles to the south - is astonishing, and the material uncovered reveals much about life in the Middle East thousands of years BC. David Fasold headed one of the last teams to be allowed excavation rights in Turkey, and he dedicated years of his life and considerable sums of his own money to searching for the Ark. This book recounts the story of his quest and the eventual realization that he had succeeded when the dimensions of his find matched up exactly to those given in the Book of Genesis. Drilling samples subsequently revealed that the boat had not been made of wood, as was commonly supposed, but of reed and a kind of cement. Fasold's site has now been sealed off and officially declared the landing place of Noah's Ark by the Turkish Government.

(REAL NAME)
I thought this book was going to be a waste of time, after reading books on ark'eology and discovering it's not possible to have had a global flood, (the ark here dismissed as a rock formation). Even if it is just a rock formation, it's still worth reading this book, as it goes into some interesting background info. of the flood, (if you'r into that sort of thing..a possible plan for the ark), and isn't just focused on the finding of this 'rock formation'. It got me thinking again about the 'catastrophism' theory of the flood.. that the mountains were raised up, rather suddenly and not over eras. And the land masses divided 'in the days of Peleg'. I had ruled this out, as creationist sillyness, but it's one explanation for the flood, if it was a real event, other than a black sea flood. My head was spinning again after reading this book. A global flood is not possible, due to animal distribution, the kangaroo and rhea weren't taken onboard the ark, (or it's very inlikely), and yet south america was flooded? Tehuanaco? on top of a mountain in Bolivia?. I suppose there's a rational explanation for all this, but I can't figure it out. How did the rhea get to south america? (it evolved) How did the rhea and llama escape drowning? logical conclusion Jim.. Tehuanaco isn't anything unusual, it's not a pre-flood city. This book adds to the whole mystery, and I'll just have to leave it as unsolved. It really is about time the turks had a peek at this thing, isn't it? Solve what it is one way or tother.
