Inspiring 15 May 2011

How inspiring it is to realise that one might very well have evolved from such a fascinating creature as Ardi (Ardipithecus ramidus) whose remains were discovered in the Ethiopian desert 18 years ago. This DVD, which is excellently composed and clearly and concisely presented by Mike Rowe, is a joy to watch. We are taken carefully, step by step, through all the stages until we are finally presented with the reconstructed Ardi in all her glory.

As the narrative progresses we become increasingly aware of the oneness of all things and of how arrogant it is to pretend that humans are something special set aside from all other living things. Best of all, there's a helpful correlation between what we see being done and what is being said, something that isn't always as well accomplished as in this helpful, interesting and educational presentaion. You could watch it over and over again without getting bored and learn something new every time. Thoroughly recommended.

If you are interesting in human evolution, then this documentary will certainly be of great fascination to you. Discovering Aldi is an exceptionally accomplished and enjoyable documentary that discusses and makes known the marvellous discovery of a 4.4 million year-old skeleton named Ardipithecus. This documentary is elegantly put together, very educational, easy to comprehend and go along with, and exceedingly fascinating. Highly recommended!
