Having seen other learn-to dance videos (especially Learn to Jive with Kav Kavannagh ) I was hoping to get to at least beyond beginner stage with Discover Dance - Latin....that DVD is strictly for beginners who do not believe they could progress. You get shown one or two very basic moves (granted, from various angles) and a promise that next DVD will be more It. Also, it is a very old fashioned style Latin dance- a ballroom in a resort style, nothing of the dynamics and vitality of Latin dance club. If that is what you want, fine, but if not-best choose another DVD.

Being new to ballroom and latin I found that I was struggling at my newly started dance classes. This CD allowed me to practice and perfect my steps and understand more and has allowed me to progress.
It has proved to be an excellent tool in helping me revise when a partner isn't available. There is the facility of setting up an interactive menu for both partners, male only or female only with the necessary amount of repeat levels one might require - this is an excellent facility at it allows one to perfect steps without having to rewind. Now I am progressing through the beginners class I wanted to see if they was another improvers level but unfortunately there does not appear to be one. I would say a must for learners especially ones without practice partners at home. It has definitely helped me. Discover Dance: Ballroom

I wanted to learn the basic steps before making a fool of myself in the dance school or on the dance floor, so I bought this DVD. Wow, it is so easy to use, fully interractive, shows the perspective of both partners and can be setup using your own preferences.If you, like me, were a little scared of stepping out onto the dance floor without any training at all, then this is the help you need. It has changed my life for sure, now I am not filled with dread when asked for a dance - no more stepping all over your partners feet! With the added advantage that DVD offers - user interraction - you can use this training guide exactly the way you want. I cannot believe this has not been done before - it is such a great way to learn! If you need any help learning to dance, get this DVD today.
