I was in Barcelona for a week and found the Discover Barcelona guide very helpful and handy. First of all I like all the colourful pages and the tips and recommendations mentioned in the book are good. It includes all the major tourist points which are worth seeing including day trips. I particularly liked the Gothic walk mentioned in the book which was fantastic and a lot of fun. Will definitely recommend this book if you visit Barcelona for a week or so.

First visit to Barcelona - the Lonely Planet Guide proved an invaluable aid for discovering the city. Whatever your interests the Guide covers it if it exists in Barcelona. Well written and laid out it will be the first thing we pack when we next visit a new city.

I usually prefer Lonely Planet and have used them all over the world but Discover Barcelona is in a slightly different format and was lacking in useful information such as how to get to/from different airports. Also there is lots more pictures and less reviews so overall not very helpful.

Overall good guide, but not as thorough as some of the other Lonely Planet guide books. Could do with easier labelling of sights and a better index. Read more

Great preparation
Very useful book to plan what I and my friends will be doing when we go over to celebrate a 50th birthday.
