Awsome movie 7 Feb. 2012
By Jule Kijek - Published on Amazon.com
Format: DVD Verified Purchase
Great movie with an interesting premise. Haley finds an old phone that allows her to call back into the past. Suspecting that her mothers death was a murder instead of a heart attack she sets out to change the past and save her mother. Many interesting twists and turns as she tries to change what happened. Great acting all around and a very satisfying ending. Disconnect is of the Rod Serling type of movie. Very enjoyable film that keeps you guessing start to finish.

CALLING UP THE PAST 22 April 2013
By Michael Butts - Published on Amazon.com
Format: DVD
Time travel takes a novel twist in DISCONNECT, an intriguing if occasionally slow paced film.
Stephanie Huckaby stars as a college student, grieving the sudden death of her mother. She inherits a unique telephone that allows her to talk to people in the past. Strange circumstances surrounding her mother's death suggest the possibility that her mother was murdered propelling her to use the phone to alter history and save mom. Veteran character actors Holmes Osbourne as the dad and Eddie Jones lend solid support as do Amanda Stoop as her loyal friend and Michael Muhney (Veronica Mars, Young and the Restless) as her boyfriend.
As in all time travel movies, you have to suspend belief and just go along for the ride. There are some inconsistencies in the plot but the story maintains your interest and the characters are mostly likeable. The mystery itself does have some red herrings and twists that resolve in a happy denouement.
DISCONNECT is a tidy little mystery that I recommend for fans of that genre.

We turned it off 26 Jan. 2014
By Beverly Ainscow - Published on Amazon.com
Format: DVD
Repetitive dialogue, nonstop phoning, corny acting and so slow. If the main character pushed her hair behind her ears one more time I thought I'd scream. This is one of the worst films I've ever seen. My husband was irritated by it and I thought it must have been made by high school kids. What a waste of time.
A Call to the Past to Change the Present! 16 Feb. 2015
By Sylviastel - Published on Amazon.com

Robin Christian directed this mediocre independent film about a time machine telephone in Illinois. One of my favorite actors, Michael Muhney is in it. They collaborated together in "Act Your Age." The premise of the film is far fetched about Haley Simmons. She just lost her mother and best friend in a heart attack. Three months later, she discovers an old style telephone that can call back in time. She also discovers her mother's death could have been preventable as well.

The cast is sufficient and the script is flawed at times. When you watch an independent film, you have to take into consideration about the cost of making. The cast does a fine job especially Devorah Richards as Sonya Simmons. The location filming in Monticello and Urbana, Illinois adds authenticity to the film. The director is based there.

I wished the DVD would have offered more extra features. The film is average entertainment not much more.
Great Plot. Lots of fun to watch 17 Feb. 2015
By Jack Heyden - Published on Amazon.com

I’m really glad Steffany Huckaby was able to collaborate with director Robin Christian on this film. “Disconnect” had a very interesting plot that was well executed by a very talented cast and crew. I found myself completely engaged from start to finish and I plan to watch the movie again because I’m sure there were some subtle things that I didn’t pick up on the first watch. Coming from Illinois it’s always good to see something that was shot in the area because it shows that there are ways of making good movies outside of the Hollywood studio system. I really hope to see more stuff like this in the future. I definitely recommend “Disconnect”.
