Format:Audio CD
I bought this CD because a few of the tracks, I've never seen anywhere else. The eclectic nature of this CD is unusual. My favourite is 'American love' by Rose Laurens, which was heavily played by Funky Duncan in the Powerhouse in the late 1980s and always managed to get the floor filled. The Flirts have always been a firm hot track, produced by the legendary Bobby O. But there are other gems on here - Erica Fachin, the Tapps, Astaire, Fun Fun - but who could possibly forget, the biggest commercial success of all these tracks - 'Gloria' by the late Laura Brannigan. The Boys Town Gang were typical of the Hi NRG sound of the early 1980s, and we are lucky to have two of the tracks on this set (the track on disc 2 needs careful monitoring if in polite company!)
A few unusual choices on here - but overall, an excellent collection, and superb value for money. Whoever decided to issue this set (and the other sets in this series) I hope that they issue many more similar ones.

As with my other review this is also a great collection of hi-nrg tracks from the gay disco era.100% recommended for those that remember the good old days and also for newcomers.

I stumbled across these compilations by accident and decided to download this one to sample the goods. I was not disappointed as the tracks are a heady mix of Hi-NRG and disco that take me back to my youth. I had forgotten about 'Passion' by The Flirts and how it used to blast out everywhere (or at least all the places I used to go) forcing you to move to the dancefloor. 'Love Trap' was another favourite and brings back memories, though nearly all these tracks are forgotten gems. The only strange choice in my opinion is the Liza Minelli track as seems more modern than the rest, but its still a good version. All the tracks are extended or remixed versions of the original tracks and represent excellent value for money. If you only know one or two tracks then buy the album as you will be amazed. Even if you were not around when these tracks were originally released take a listen to some old-school disco music. You will not be disappointed.
