I am a big fan of 80's Italo and Eurobeat and those behind the Disco Discharge series must be as well as this is the forth Italo based album they have released. And it's a corker! Featuring 24 tracks all in their extended versions this is a great value album. Key tracks include 'Say You'll Never' by Lian Ross, the massive 'holiday hit' (remember them)'Around My Dream' By Silver Pozzoli, 'Mr Fantasy' by Lee Marrow years before he had worlwide hits producing Corona and one of the biggest hits of the 80's, 'Bolero (Hold Me In Your Arms Again' by Fancy. I could have easily picked any of the other tracks to highlight as the quality is impressive. Sure Euro is a love or loath genre but if you do like it then you won't go wrong with this album. Great to see some Dutch tracks on here as well. During the mid 80's they were producing some of the best club tracks and on this album you get a choice of four. On disc one is 'Go Go Yellow Screen' by Digital Emotion which was a great follow up to 'Get Up Action.' On disc two you get Vanessa's 'Upside Down (Dizzy Does It Makes Me) which is a camp treat with that familiar 'I Feel Love' sound, 'Freak It Out Mr DJ' by Dr Groove and saving the best for last - the awesome 'Get Ready' by X Ray Connection.
Sound quality is amazing as always with this series and the sleeve notes by Alan Jones are a great read. And just get a look at the sleeve images included in the booklet! Hats off to the people behind this series. I am a committed Disco Discharge fan and can't wait for future releases.
