Product Description

Album Description
Disclaimer is filled with the kind of dark hooks and brutal rhythms that are sure to win new audiences with the nu-metal crowd and with those who like a little more meat on the bones of their pop music. Hailing from Johannesburg, South Africa, Seether mix the heavy metal thunder of acts such as Godsmack and Helmet with the radio-friendly melodies of Bush and Nickleback. Seether, like Slipknot and the gang, are adding sheen back to a genre that's become a little dulled.

CD Description
Remixed and expanded version of second album (following 2000's independently-released 'Fragile') from South African grunge rock band. Owes a heavy debt to the quiet-loud dynamics, emotional angst and melodic hooks of Nirvana, but coats them in a slick, arena-friendly production by nu-metal lynchpinJay Baumgardner (Papa Roach, Drowning Pool, Alien Ant Farm). Includes the single 'Broken' which features a guest vocal from Amy Lee of Evanescence.

5.0 out of 5 stars Claim it, 23 Oct 2004

This is a genius album and is really worthy of being on your stereo for months. It's a truly original masterpiece of heavy rock and a couple of rock ballads such as Broken feat. Amy Lee, who is the amazing singer from Evanescence. There are no bad tracks and every one will have you moving. There are different styles very noticable; Nirvana, Nickelback, Puddle of Mudd even.If you like Evenescence then you will love this. From the blistering opening track "Gasoline" to the final track "Broken" Featuring Amy Lee which is a mint song! I strongly reccommend you buy this, if you dont like this sort of music than obviously dont!

4.0 out of 5 stars No Evanescence, but it comes close, 18 Jun 2004
By A Customer
Despite the bonus track fearturing guest vocalist from Evanescence, Amy Lee, being the highlight of the album, 'Disclaimer' is a unique album in itself, with Seether's style being a refreshing change from the run-of-the-mill rock sound. From the emotionally-charged first track "Gasoline' to the "calmer" tracks of 'Fine Again' and 'Sympathetic', 'Disclaimer' is a must for any rock fan, as this album lies somewhere between Evanescence, Iron Maiden and Puddle of Mudd, as Seether have all the traits of a classic rock band.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent rock album, 8 Sep 2004
I bought this, as I guess most others did, because "Broken" is a great single and I also like Evanescence, Seether's label mates and tour partner. After buying albums lately that I have been disappointed with (notably Velvet Revolver's massively over rated "Contraband",) this came as a welcome addition to my cd collection- 16 great tracks, and quite diverse- "Broken" is still marginally myfavourite, but "Sympathetic", "Needles", "Fine Again" and the driven "f**k it" are also excellent. Their
sound is difficult to pin down, parts remind me of Staind's "Break The Cycle" (only better and not with so much "I have parental issues" repetitivity)Shaun sounds a bit like Cobain at times, which was not a selling point to me but will be to others... I would just heartily recommend it to any rock fan.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not brilliant, only great
I think that somes it up. It seems such a shame, after the obvious amount of effort and emotion put into this album that Seether haven't got that much out of it. Read more
