Product Description

Product Description

'Christians in the West', claims David Watson, 'have largely neglected what it means to be a disciple of Christ. The vast majority of western Christians are church-members, pew-filler, hymn-singers, sermon-tasters, Bible-readers, even born-again believers or Spirit-filled charismatics, but not true disciples of Jesus.'

'The call to discipleship is a call to God’s promised glory. This is not a day in which to play religious games. Time is running out fast.' --This text refers to the Paperback edition.

About the Author

David Watson was an internationally renowned and much loved preacher and writer. He played a large part in the renewal ministry and was latterly based at St. Michael-le-Belfry, York. --This text refers to the Paperback edition.

I am just starting to adapt the material in this book to write a 6 week, 12 session course on discipleship, and will be encouraging all the students to read it. It is so clear and instructive that many people would benefit from it, especially those who have lost their way a bit and need a reminder about what the point of being a Christian is. Well worth a read!

This is still the best book around (in my opinion) for inspiring passionate, lifelong growth into the likeness of Christ.
