Product Description

Step behind the scenes of Hollywood's major disaster films, past and present, for a look at the making of one of films most successful and longest running genres. From the earliest days of film to recent box off smash hits, disaster films have been a staple of the motion picture industry. Now get a glimpse behind the silver screen at the making of classics like Towering Inferno, Poseidon Adventure, Airport, Titanic, Dante's Peak, Earthquake, Armageddon, Volcano, Meteor, Earthquake and more. Full of photos and stories from behind the movies, the book looks across the genre at the all-star casts, expensive budgets, fantastic stories, special effects and the box office dollars to give readers a real look at what the big-budget disaster movie was all about.

Updated Version Delivers Major Improvement 10 Sep 2009
By John W. Law - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
This book was recently updated to address some of the technical issues with translating the printed book into a digital copy. Originally, a two-column page layout presented an issue for the kindle system when the columns were inappropriately read as one column instead of two. The publishers were made aware of the issue and produced a new version of the book to suit the kindle ebook reader. The updated version should now track properly and present the text in a readable format, though the book has changed from the original design. The page count increased slightly and the image and design was altered but all the text remains and hopefully will provide readers with the stories they were expecting. In addition it includes a collection of photos that celebrate the disaster movies detailed.

Promising but bad formatting 3 July 2009
By Caroline Trude - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
I was really excited to start reading this book. Here is the problem: the formatting on the kindle is messed up and makes the book unreadable. The sentences stop and start and overlap. Publisher, please reformat this book as it seemed like it was well written (at least the first few pages were until the problems hit.)
