This is supposed to be a replica volume of the one that Owen prepared and wrote the famous 'preface' for. His death in battle on the 4th of November 1918 was exactly one week before the end of the war. Wilfred was just 25 years old when he died; he never saw his poems in print nor tasted his future influence on war and poetry.
Don't miss Wilfred's first hand view of the trenches. 'Disabled' is full of sporting imagery, the anithesis of the title and war. 'Disabled' is an insight into all the senses and sensibility of a young man who, although so obviously shocked by his experiences, always hoped that his poetry really would make a difference to the perception of the Great and other Wars.
