This movie may have went straight to DVD here and in the USA but despite the bad reviews and general put-down of this movie Jenny McCarthy's comedic style makes seeing this movie all that much more worth while.
The main reason I feel that the movie was less than well-received is probably because people feel that such a beautiful women should not debase herself to 'crude' jokes and 'disgusting' gags just for a few laughs. Well, I disagree. Throughout McCarthy's career she has used this contrast to set herself apart from the other "Playmates". Sure, some moments in the movie are cringe-worthy but that's why I, myself, love her. Jenny McCarthy is not ashamed to be her goofy, funny self. I think she should be commended for that.
I gave "Dirty Love" three stars because, true, it is not a masterpiece nor is the script a truly inspiring piece of work, and the movie can be over the top at times, however, at no point did I feel the movie deserved the painfully bad reviews it received in The States. McCarthy tried her best at writing and starring in “Dirty Love” and I think she deserves a lot more credit.
