Book Description

Exclusive: The scandal that will rock The White House to the very core

Ben McCoy is the Vice-Presidential candidate with the backing of the entire nation. His wife, Megan, is as close as she’ll ever be to living the American Dream - from inside The White House.

Until investigative reporter, James Emerson, comes looking for a story - and it seems the barricade masking ambition, sex and power-struggle rife in Washington D.C. isn’t impenetrable after all…

No matter how careful you are, secrets always leak out. Now, Megan has a choice, she can do as many First Lady’s have done before her, and stand by her man. Or she can opt for full disclosure. With a scandal so sensational it will whip the press into a humiliating political frenzy Megan, for the first time, holds all the cards.

They say all that glitters isn’t gold – but what happens when you realise everything you’ve ever dreamed of isn’t enough...

More About the Author

Originally from California, Kierney Scott moved to Scotland to enrol in the Ph D programme in Educational Research at the University of Edinburgh.

Four days after she arrived, she met her husband, who persuaded her it would be more fun to get married than write a thesis. After the birth of her daughter she decided it was time to go back to school, but soon discovered all she wanted to write was romance novels. She admitted her literary proclivities to her husband, who promptly bought her a laptop and told her to start writing her book.

When she is not writing, you will probably find her at a spinning class or baking (read eating) cupcakes. Her butter cream icing is legendary, if only in her mind. If you want her recipe, or just want to chat, you can contact her at or follow her on twitter @Kierney_S

4.0 out of 5 stars Great read 16 Jan. 2014

This is the authors second story, the first being Twice in a Lifetime.

Megan McCoy is living a lie. She is wife to Ben McCoy, who is in the running to become Vice President of the USA. Over the years she has perfected the image others see, but behind closed doors it is a totally different story.

Forced into doing an interview with reporter James Emerson, she doesn't realise that he has an ulterior motive for wanting to interview her husband. He is delving deep to try and get information, but what he finds is so much more than he had hoped for.

Matters very quickly get out of hand as Megan finds herself embroiled in something she could not have foreseen. Her loyalties are severely tested. When push comes to shove will she stick to her guns, or will someone else's wishes come before hers?

The ending, for me, is perfect. Everything which Megan goes through has to happen in order for her to realise what she wants to achieve. Along the way feelings are hurt, lies are told, but the truth always comes out. Doesn't it?

I loved this book because both Megan and James are strong characters who have a very volatile time whenever they meet. I also love it because I'm in it! Well, a character is named after me!

This author has a great career ahead of her and I will be standing applauding her all the way. A definite recommended read from me.

Loved this book. Was the second book I read of this author, and both have been brilliant. Loved the premise of the story (very different story wise and character wise to her first) and overall it was a real page turner...couldn't put it down. If you want a fantastic read, with great characters and an unpredictable ending, this book's for you! Can't wait to read her next book.

5.0 out of 5 stars A real page-turner! 13 July 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
Couldn't put it down and just didn't want to. Loved the multi-dimensional plot, the constant build in suspense, and complex characters that I believe people will really relate to in this today's society. Second of the author's books I have read and I am recommending her to everyone. Very interesting contrasting themes throughout.
