This card is awesome and unbelievably quiet! I swapped this for my Asus AMD 4890 and there is a massive performance difference at 1920x1080@60Hz (normal HD Television spec). All my games (e.g. Crysis 2, Battle Field 3, Alien Vs Predator) are smooth and run flawlessly on pretty max'd out settings.

However, I would advise if you are considering this card to ensure that your PC case has good air flow. This card has excellent heat dissipation, it is quiet and seems to pump heat out pretty quick, but not all of the air goes out the back. - If your case does have good air flow then this will not be a problem, a case with poor air flow could mean that this excess heat may get sucked into your CPU's fan and cause the CPU's temperature to rise.

Additionally, the 7.1 HDMI sound (transferred via the HDMI cable) is excellent and really allow games to 'come to life'. BIO-Shock 2 and Battle Field 3 are particularly good that this.

[PC Specification: Intel Quad Core @3.6GHz with 8GB Ram]

By far this is the best graphics card I have used. Not had a single problem with this for the 5 months I have used it, Still works like new. Only negative to this card is the fact that it is rather large and will take up some of the space but really that isn't much of a problem. All games I've played on full settings has had no drop below 60 fps making smooth gameplay.

Bought this knowingly the new cards coming down the line in the same price bracket such as R9 280X are just re-branded 7970's. The cooler on this card looks beefier than the new 280X DirectCU II albeit the new card is a 2 slot design. Also this line carries the awesome backplate which I really like where the new ones don't.

Got to 1100MHz core 1500MHz memory easily and I am sure there is some more to squeeze out of it. Overall top notch quality card and the 6 port output scheme is a killer for expansion.

On to the weird stuff, I can't get for the life of me even begin to understand why Asus has locked the core voltage on this one. I can't get over 1120mV in GPU Tweak, tried a whole bunch of GPU tweak versions with no luck (including 2.2.1.4 that apparently unlocks it as discussed here [...]

Obviously overclocks are not guaranteed hence I am not taking away any stars here but this is marketed as a tweaker's card so I was expecting at least to give us the options the more humble reference designs do. Of course one can dive into bios modding to get out of it but that's a different story.

One thing to note, double check motherboard clearance before buying this card as it blocked 4 out 6 sata on my motherboard (Giga P67A-UD3P). Luckily found some handy L shaped sata cables and got my sata ports back. I can't blame the card but keep that in mind.

I will be taking one star away though on Amazon (on my purchase the seller was Amazon) cheaping out and not offering the AMD promotional NEVER SETTLE bundle (3 free games) with this card. I got onto support through chat and they just don't carry that promotion, which is really an AMD promotion so that was kind of awkward.

This GPU Runs much cooler then my reference 7970. The big plus for myself is that cooler means running the fans at lower speeds which means less noise.

Also, the overclocking seems to be better then my reference 7970. I have this DirectCu at 1125 without any voltage increase.

Only 3 slots, but I don't mind it much since it's sitting under my reference card, but 2 of these would not be possible with my motherboard!

Considering this isn't that much more expensive compared to the reference 7970, it's a good upgrade consider you get an upgraded PCB and cooler.

So in summary:

- Great cooling
- Custom VRM
- Great fan design
- Card is great for Eyefinity
- 3 slots
- Driver Support is from AMD (not ASUS fault)
- Not a good idea to cross fire these cards unless you plan to watercool but that would be pointless to pay the extra money for this card.

This card is exactly what I wanted. This card is built solid with larger fans for less noise and better performing cooling. My temps range between 28-51 C depending on the game and load (not overclocked)
