Dionysios Demetis has a Diploma in Physics from the University of Crete, an MSc in Information Systems from the London School of Economics as well as a PhD in Anti-Money Laundering, also from the LSE. His work on AML has been featured in the select bibliography of the United Nations IMOLIN network, and he has received a Highly Commended Award for Excellence on work published at the Journal of Money Laundering Control. He has taught at the Masters programme of the Information Systems and Innovation Group at the LSE for a number of years, teaching classes in information management, information systems security, and methodology. His passion though has always been philosophy and the discovery of scientific paradoxes embedded throughout all disciplines. He is currently member of the Scientific Board of the Geolab institute at the Ionian University in Corfu, where he will be delivering a series of talks on the philosophy of science and methodology.
