By A Customer
Format:Hardcover
This stunningly illustrated sequel to the internationally successful Dinotopia, captivating both young and old alike, is another hit by Gurney.

'The World Beneath' continues the adventures of the Professor Arthur Denison and his son Will (apprentice Skybax rider), as they both persue their Dinotopian dreams. Will persues his goal to become a Master Pilot of the Skybax, and his father continues his now infamous expedition to discover the secret past of Dinotopia. These two contrasting

stories of adventure work well together, although the tale is no longer from the point of view of Arthur Denison, it is still a well crafted tale of discovery.

The body of the book is added to by the blatantly obvious attraction between Denison and Oriana, a new and intriguing character, and the deceptive and villainous Lee Crabb of the original Dinotopia. To say any more would spoil this magnificent masterpiece by James Gurney, another triumph by this talented author and artist. Well worth a read, pure fantasy.

Dinotastic! 7 May 2011
Format:Hardcover
Sequel fantasy storybook to Dinotopia in landscape HB/dj format. Former scene painter Gurney has transferred his artistic talents to the book illustration medium with aplomb and produced a remarkable result. The book is in the style of a biologist's journal, with watercolour sketches of creature details and oil paintings of whole scenes from the story, all underpinned with excellent draughtsmanship. Check out the footprint alphabet - toe much, geddit? Oh, never mind!
