This is very much something of an oddity, its seems to want to be everything to everyone, and as a result ends up kind of being nothing to no one.Its not a true documentary, yet its not a work of pure fiction,it inhabits this odd land inbetween both. There is too much about it that is storytelling for it to work as a factual programme, scenes designed to pull at the heartstrings,as it were, involving the fate of baby dinosaurs, could almost be straight out of a Disney movie.Yet the factual approach to some aspects, and the realsitic gory fight scenes, are strictly documentary territory. The narration by Werner Herzog doesnt help matters either, its very sparse, and doesnt provide you with anywhere near enough information.Something which proves to be more and more irratating as things progress.I wouldnt call the effects cutting edge if Im honest, theyre up to the standard weve come to know and expect, but are nothing out of the ordinary. The picture quality wasnt that hot in places either, which was something I wasnt expecting.

It held my attention, though only just in a couple of places, and I will give it another go at some point. But its too much of a mixed bag for me to regard it as highly as Walking With Dinosaurs,or Planet Dinosaur for that matter. Its one I will definately file under Missed Oppertunity.

1.0 out of 5 stars Truly abysmal 8 Jan 2014
This is an odd title consisting of a lot of disconnected Vignettes of animated dinosaurs a few of which are ok but many of which are absolutely absurd.
Werner Herzog's introduction to each segment is really odd too and does nothing to dissuade me from my view that this is probably one of the worst Dinosaur DVD's ever produced. Avoid at all costs unless bad animation and Dinosaurs tripping on Fly agaric mushrooms (as if any such mushroom could even grow in the terrain in which it is shown) amuses you.

Found this in hmv in reading for 15, thought to myself no way am I paying that ill check trusty old amazon and found it for 2.99 bargin:)

Well how wrong was I what a crock os B.S this turned out to be.

Hadly any narration to go with it so your left wondering what species of dinosaur your watching.

My 6 yr old dino MAD son has loads of dino DVDs walking with dinos, dino dan, dino king, prehistoric park to name a few and they are all good quality DVDs and he loves them.

This dvd even he said dad it's really pants I do t want to watch it again, there is a scene where a long necked dino eats what can only be described as a magic mushroom and starts tripping his dino sized nuts off which sounds like it would be funny but its so poorly done made me get a headache watching that scene.

I'm not the best at reviewing in the world and hardly ever do it but even at 2.99 this is a waste of money, if you've got a dino mad kid go and get them a copy of dino mite from your local paper shop it's 100 times better.

This dvd is nothing more than highlights from the Dinosaur Revolution dvd's. The only other difference is that it has a different narrator on this dvd.
For me a total waste of money!!!
