It appears some (American?) Christians feel their literal interpretation of the Bible is threatened by the popularity of palentology, particularly amongst children. This book (and others of its kind) are clearly an attempt to turn back the clock of scientific research to where it was around the middle of the 19th Century. Bizzare in the extreme and hard to explain to a six year old. When I found out why mine was asking such odd questions (he'd been given this book at school as a "prize" for doing well in science!) I had to explain that there are some adults who have trouble growing up and still believe in fairy tales and that he should decide for himself what was "true" and what wasn't. Later I found this book in the bin and took great pleasure in wheeling it out for the dustmen to take away.

HASH(0x91866504) out of 5 stars Christian perspective on dinosaurs w/o propoganda 22 Jun. 2001
By Anonymous - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover
After over a year of seaching, I stumbled onto this book. It's the ONLY one I can find which presents accurate information about dinosaurs from a Christian perspective, without falling into young-earth creationist propoganda. Great pictures and up-to-date scientific data. Appropriate for grades 3 through 5 to read to themselves. Younger children will enjoy the pictures. It's not exactly a "read-to-me" book, however.

HASH(0x91866564) out of 5 stars Great Paleontology Resource from a Christian View 16 July 2008
By Piano diva - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover
I am always skeptical about buying books with a Christian point of view on topics such as dinosaurs, due to varying opinions on how old they are, how old the earth is, etc. This book gives a lot of great detailed information that a child age 8-12 can easily understand. Both young earth and old earth positions are stated but the authors of this book tend to lean towards the old earth view. That's great if you want your child to believe that science is accurate and not a bunch of "propaganda" when it comes to dinosaurs and the age of the earth (and be accurate on every other topic). There is alot of documented scientific evidence that is presented and hard to dispute that it makes this book a great resource for the Christian child who wants to learn more about these fascinating creatures God created!
