About the Author
Born in Warsaw in 1936, Jan Pienkowski moved to England at the age of ten. He pioneered the modern Pop-up book with Haunted House, Robot, Dinner Time, Good Night and seventeen others.

Dinner Time is one of the few books that captures my 14 month old toddlers attention long enough to sit still for a few minutes!He plays with the pop out animals and we do the animal croaks, growls, and roars together. He is facinated by it.

This makes for a very good first pop-up book. It's not overly intricate, compared to Haunted House for example, however it's a good way to gauge if your special little someone is ready for the more exciting and delicate Pienkowski masterpieces!

This was the favourite book of our boys when they were babies and toddlers. (They are now in their 20's) I am delighted that it is back in print and will be buying it for all new babies......the movement in the pop ups attracts young babies and they move their eyes to watch the book. Great start to reading!
