Fantastic, yummy recipes which are easy to use. No fancy ingredients that are costly/or take ages to prepare. Have tried 5 so far and they have gone down a treat.

Fabulous 17 May 2005
By A Customer
Format:Hardcover
At last, the book I have been waiting for for years. Essentially because it is packed full of great "all in one" recipes for children - which will also feed the whole family. Toad in the Hole, Moussaka (with potatoes, not aubergine), pasta with meatballs, fish pie, fishcakes, apple crumble, marbled sponge pudding - it will keep me going for months. But it is not just a recipe book. I would say this is essential reading for anyone who is involved in trying to change their school dinners. About 2/5 of the book is prose, with some food/nutrition facts, but much about how she instigated change in her own school, including how they incorporated food education into the curriculum for the various age groups.
If you are cooking for your children - fab book. If you are trying, in any capacity, to bring about change in a school kitchen - absolutely essential, and here are all the recipes for 96 I suspect you will ever need!

As a sister Dinner Lady and cook for a small primary school in Essex, I found myself in the same boat as Jeanette last year. One year on and this book has confirmed that we have done the right thing and given me numerous ideas to forge ahead. The recipes are excellent and are given for 4 or 96 (school quantities). I try them out at home on my family and if it gets the thumbs up it goes on the school's menu. This is the lady who first alerted Jamie Oliver to the state of the nation's school dinners!

Truly an excellent read and a most inspirational book.
