Product Description

Product Description

'It's my creation - like Frankenstein's monster.'

An artist, a scientist and a sexpot are coming to dinner. Paige, hostess extraordinaire, is celebrating the publication of her husband's bestseller. The arrival of Mike, marooned in the foggy lane after crashing his van, provides an unexpected addition to the evening's entertainment. A silent waiter, sourced from an obscure website, completes the picture. Primordial Soup is first on the menu let the dinner from hell begin.

A wonderful comedy chiller, with blood on the carpet before bedtime.

Dinner was premièred at the Royal National Theatre's Loft space in November 2002.

hilariously bitchy 27 July 2004
By sam155 TOP 1000 REVIEWER VINE™ VOICE
Format:Paperback
Saw this on stage at The New Theatre Cardiff on Friday 24th July. The humour was incisive, and hilarious and shattered the initial smugness of the upper middle class hosts and guests. I laughed out loud several times, and especially enjoyed Paige's answer to everything: "We need drinks". The device of introducing an honest working class man as the only one who saw the truth, helped to topple them off their high horses and added yet more spice to the truly awful meal. Anyone who has ever had a dinner party where a couple have just rowed will identify with the level of social discomfort. The play is dialogue driven rather than action driven and worked well with a simple set. Without giving anything away-the butler may be virtually silent but he plays a very important part...Thanks Moira- we enjoyed this.x

Love this play 18 Mar 2012

The play is ascerbic Brit wit and humor at its best. It would be hard to love these characters under most any circumstance and still somehow if you are brainy enough to be reading it, it is also likely that you already know these guys. Maybe a little too well.
