With its unique oil free heating technology the Dimplex 2kW OFRC20c Oil Free column heater provides more heat faster than a standard oil filled column radiator of the same heat output. When using a portable heater you want to feel its warmth quickly and the oil free column heater from Dimplex does just that. The absence of oil means that the OFRC20c heats up very quickly indeed. In fact manufacturer laboratory tests show that this economical oil free column heater, provides approx 30% more effective room heat than an equivalent output oil filled column radiator, based on the average room temperature after one hour. What's more the test data also shows that OFRC20c uses less energy when heating a room from 15 to 25 degrees celsius. The unique patented fin design provides enhanced heat distrubition making the OFRC20c perfect for almost any room in the house, and because it has no oil there is no risk of leaking; it's light enough to move from room to room; plus it's easier to recycle/dispose of at the end of its useful life. With two heat settings and thermostat the OFRC20c offers complete user control, and the integral cable tidy makes this nifty heater easy to store away when not in use. The OFRC20c has been fully and independently safety tested to stringent BEAB Intertek standards and comes complete with a 3 year manufacturers warranty.
Oil Free heaters are a new development in Portable heating. Some are styled like traditional oil filled column heaters whilst others are more modern in design. Like their oil filled counterparts outputs vary from 700w to 3kW. The main benefit with oil free radiators is that they warm up very fast, are lighter in weight (yet durable) and responsive to providing heat when you need it in comparison to oil filled products. In terms of energy saving features, look out for thermostats, heat settings and timers. More advanced features include electronic climate control, remote controls, and twin panel elements to increase control over the appliance.

This radiator does the desired job effectively.Our room feels a lot warmer after using it rather than with the central heating on.The product itself is fairly light and on full power it heats up the room very quickly indeed.
I cannot comment on the usage costs as yet but for sure it's gotta be better than the gas costs.
There are a few small niggly bits which is why I've only given it 4 stars but they do not detract from the fact that this is a very good product.
-the thermostat knob does not state the temperature so you have no idea how warm the room is
-the pilot light is always on when the radiator is plugged in but from a distance there is no way of knowing when the radiator is on or off(there could have been a second pilot light to indicate that)
Overall though i'm very pleased with the purchase,i'd recommend it without hesitation.

Better than we thought it would be. Using it as a back up to a small radiator in our conservatory. The heat it gives out could mean we turn off the original radiator!

I bought this product to provide background heat in my large conservatory - its very efficient. It looks good and is easy to move around. I bought it to replace an older heater of similar design but this one is better. I'm very pleased with my purchase.

Noisy Heater
