Highly mis-leading adverts all over amazon for this particular product.

a) The thermostat is really only a safety cut out, you cannot set the temperature.

b) To change the timer you have to open up the unit and fiddle about with tiny little jumpers, not really for the faint hearted or elderly. Poor diagrams too.

c) To change the power from the preset 2kw to 1kw you have to undo the screws and lift of the front cover. which is a quite tight fit, as you will find when you try to put it back again..

It's just as well they almost force you to pay for a qualified electrician to fit it, as the connection block obviously has'nt been thought out too well the cable has to be inserted from below and very awkward to connect inside the unit.

This particular model is not by any means cheap either, you are paying around £30 extra just for the timer!, there are other products worth considering.

Other than that though this is a typical Dimplex product - solid and reliable, my second purchase.

Had it fitted quickly and easy. In the Summer it is possible to switch it down to 1.0Kw rather than 2.0Kw which is perfect for our shower room.

Ideal for small bathroom, set max rating down to 1KW and max time down to 10 mins, you can go down to 5mins if you want to. Just enough time for quick shower and time to dry off within 10 mins. I much prefer hot air to radiant for this purpose you feel the benefit right from the start.

Excellent value - easy to fit and the timer is simple to adjust - the pull string is quite light and so should be used GENTLY

Bought this for our en suite shower room. Instant heat and a very good timer for our forgetful guests! Very cosy.

Very good bathroom heater at a great price. Bathroom now nice and warm while having a shower!! Timer is useful with kids in the house who forget to turn things off.

I installed 2 of the Dimplex FX20VE heaters in my apartment approximately 2 years ago when it was refurbished. The one heater is seldom used and is still working. However, the other heater which is installed in the bathroom and obviously used during the cold periods only lasted 2 years.

For ease of replacement I purchased another Dimplex FX20VE heater. After installing the unit I was annoyed to find that the unit cut out after just 3 minutes of operation when set to the 2kW setting and would not re-start until the safety switch in the unit cooled down. I should add that the unit appears to operate correctly when switched to the 1kW setting. On contacting the company I was sent a replacement heater. Again after installing the heater it too cut out after just a minute when set to the 2kW setting. My bathroom has a volume of 12 cubic metres which complies with the 2kW setting requirements of the heater.

This unit is in excess of £60.00 and there is obviously a problem with the units. My advice is either purchase the Dimplex FX20V without the run on timer (it's half the cost at £30.00) or purchase another make.

We already had this heater in our upstairs bathroom. However this one
has a cut out set to 20 mins.which really gives me peace of mind as I
am finding as we get older we forget to turn things off!
