A revolution in portable heating technology, the 2kW CDE2ECC Cadiz Eco Oil Free Radiator is one of the most effective portable heating appliances on the market today. When using a portable heater you want to feel its warmth quickly and the Cadiz Eco does just that. The twin micathermic heating elements rapidly convert energy into heat which is evenly distributed over a large surface area with no cold spots. Manufacturer laboratory tests show that the Cadiz Eco provides 50% more effective radiant heat in the first 20 minutes of operation than a traditional oil filled column radiator of the same output. Plus, it used less energy when heating a room from 10 to 25 degrees celsius. As the CDE2ECC is free from oil there is no risk of leaking; it's light enough to move from room to room; plus it's easier to recycle/dispose of at the end of its useful life.The CDE2ECC features a sophisticated electronic climate control function which incorporates a built in digital thermostat (accurate to within +/-1 degree celsius), 24 hour electronic timer, backlit LCD display and remote control. It also features a choice of two heat settings and has an integral cable tidy so that it can be stored away neatly when not in use. Oil Free radiators are a new development in Portable heating. Some are styled like traditional oil filled column heaters whilst others are more modern in design. Like their oil filled counterparts outputs vary from 700w to 3kW. The main benefit with oil free radiators is that they warm up very fast, are lighter in weight (yet durable) and responsive to providing heat when you need it in comparison to oil filled products. In terms of energy saving features, look out for thermostats, heat settings and timers. More advanced features include electronic climate control, remote controls, and twin panel elements to increase control over the appliance.

A fantastic buy. Love the climate control facility as it keeps the room at a set temperature through the night. I use it in my baby's room and don't have to worry about him getting cold at night or waking up because of the cold. That means I sleep better too! Also like the fact that it is very quiet when on so will not disturb the baby. The blue display is very bright though and unfortunately cannot be switched off but I've just stuck some material over it to avoid getting a blue glow in the room at night.

I bought this heater to use at night so I don't have to have the central heating on so high.
The heater works well and is good at maintaining a set temperature. It contains two heat panels and in automatic mode switches on one or two panels depending on the heat required. It seems to keep to the set temperature pretty well. The unit does use a relay to switch the panels, so you do hear a faint click as it turns on.
The not so good points are:
1) The blue LED is way too bright and lights up the room. I tried using a bit of paper like other reviewers but it still produced too much light inside the unit which could be seen. I ended up opening it up and snipping the wires to the blue LEDs. Problem solved but not in a good way. [Obviously this can be a dangerous thing to do if you don't know what you are doing, and voids your warranty]
2) The timers aren't very flexible, you have 2 on/off periods, but they can't overlap or go over midnight. So if you want the clock to show the correct time, and you want to heat overnight, you end up using two timer settings to switch on in the evening, switch off just before midnight, and set the other timer to come on just after midnight and switch off in the morning.
3) The set temperature is independent of the timers, in other words you can't use the timers to set different heating temperatures.
None of these are huge issues, but nice to know if you are planning to buy the unit. Personally I like it and would recommend it.

Works very well in a 7x5 meter loft conversion. Would be 5 out of 5 however the blue light the digital control panel gives off is too bright in the evenings/night. I will have to attach a small dark panel over it.
