A revolution in portable heating technology, the powerful 3kW CDE3ECC Cadiz Eco Oil Free Radiator is one of the most effective portable heating appliances on the market today. Needed an independant electric heater for a 4m x 3m chilly loft room to assist the too small central heating radiator in the room. As its a bedroom I wanted to avoid the mechanical timer type as they tend to be noisy. Choice is limited then for electronic timer types. The heater pumps out excellent heat very rapidly, which can be timed, or manually set using the front panel controls or the included remote control. Its swings and roundabouts for the rapid heat up, the panel is very quickly stone cold when it switches off. Oil filled types will stay warm longer when switched off but will also take longer to heat up, so there's nothing in it in reality.
One major flaw if you plan to use it in a bedroom though, the LCD background light is very, very bright and cannot be avoided if you want to use the electronic timer. Imagine a TV in a pitch dark room and you get the idea, seriously. This was much reduced using a carefully shaped piece of black plastic placed over the display. You don't need to see the display once you've set it up so its not too much bother but it could have been easily avoided with a bit more thought and product testing by the manufacturer!
So in summary, an excellent heater slightly let down by a daft display. It manages to keep our loft room at a comfortable temperature, even with the sub-zero's we have been experiencing lately.

I bought this for the eco factor in that it produces 50% more heat than an oil filled heater for the same amount of energy used. The saving should pay for itself over one winter + the fact that it uses less energy is great. However, I agree with the reviewer that said the blue display is too bright. I will also have to find something to cover it with but very wary of causing a fire hazard so may have to live with it. Also, although it is light, it is quite bulky. Anyway, it does seem to chuck some heat out which is the main thing. It is used in a large basement room (30' x 15') with only one central heating radiator which struggles to keep the room warm. Hopefully this will be enough to top the heat up and keep the cats warm :-) and hopefully it was worth paying extra for.
Edit to add - although it hasn't been really cold yet this winter, it is doing the job of topping up the heat in the room and my cat, Alice approves :-)

This Heater is perfect. I am really please with it. It heats up my downstairs area completely. I believe this will help me alot on my gas bills.

Bright screen
This product is very good performance but not to a bedroom. The digital screen is so bright. A switch would be fantastic on it to turn off the light.
