Product Description
The Dimplex Cheriton is a 2kW freestanding electric fire. This traditionally styled fire is designed to be used freestanding flat against a wall, has a choice of heat settings and comes complete with a real coal fuel bed. Additionally the Cheriton features the realistic moving flame effect Optiflame, which can be used with or without heat, making it perfect for use all year round. The Cheriton is finished in black with brass effect fret and trims, and has a 12 month manufacturers warranty and BEAB Intertek approval for added safety assurance.
Electric fires are very easy to use as there is little or no installation required, and because they run off electric all you need to do is simply plug in and go! There is no annual maintenance required as with gas and they are 100% efficient at point of use.

This turned out to be an excellent buy at a competitive price, very simple to fit and it worked.

My flue was condemned by a gas engineer so I had to replace my gas fire with an electric one.
This fire looks lovely and gives a warm cosy feel to the lounge. In terms of heat however, this is a 2kw electric fan heater with a pretty surround. It blows warm air from the vents in the top, but I would not describe it as especially hot. I am glad this is a secondary source of heat along with the central heating radiators, rather than the main source.
An advantage is that the coal flame effect can work independently of heat to give a cosy glow. And the coals are real coals which adds to the realistic effect.
