Product Description

Product Description

This work invites artists in all media to discover nonsilver imaging techniques. The text outlines the creative processes that require little or no knowledge of photography or chemistry. Instructions and photographs teach how to mix chemicals and apply light-senstive emulsions by hand, how to create imagery in and out of the darkroom, how to translocate Polaroid photographs and magazine and newspaper pictures, and how to alter black-and-white photographs. A colour portfolio highlights the work of artists, such as Robert Rauschenberg, Todd Walker, Bea Nettles, and Robert W. Fichter. A list of supply sources from throughout North America and Europe is also included. The book should be suitable for painters, printmakers, fibre artists, sculptors, illustrators, and photographers alike.

New Dimensions in Photo Imaging 28 Dec 1999
By Arthur Violette - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Spiral-bound
I consider this to be an excellent text covering a large spectrum of imaging in general - a good work and reference book but I have one reservation - the spiral plastic binding is too small and will not allow the book to open without damaging the holes where the binding is inserted - in order to turn a page without tearing the binding holes one must stand the book on its binding edge and then open to the desired page. I had to remove the existing spiral binding and have a larger one installed by a print shop.
