Classic Adams 22 April 2001
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
I always feel that these are the best type of Dilbert books, an entire year of strips in chronological order. Reading this way means that you get to see the running jokes that Adams often builds up over the course of a week and you also get his 8 frame weekend strips (as opposed to his normal 3 day daily strips). You do not get this sort of thing in the books like 'The Dilbert Principle' which (while excellent in their own right) only pick out the odd strip to illustrate what Adams is talking about in the text.

If you really like Dilbert, Dogbert, Ratbert, Bob the Dinosaur et al. then this is the book to get.

If on the other hand you have never read Dilbert before (and there may be aliens from another planet who have just arrived and want to know how we run business), then this is a pretty good book to start with - all the main characters are there and established by this point. The only real ommision is Catbert the Evil Director of Human Resources. I believe that he was introduced later.

All in all, a superb book for anybody who works in an office.

For anybody that has had first hand experience of the corporate world, the laughs and witty sarcasm of Scott Adams will provide and endless source of fun and tear jerking laughter.

What surprised me about this volume is the freshness of the stories and the ability Adams has to keep the issues dealt with in the strips up to date, how you can grab a collection from over ten years ago and still relate to it.

Dilbert is one of those comic strips that make me want to find out more and more and build the whole collection. If it wasn't so good, I'd say it's brilliant.
