The Yamax Digiwalker SW701 measures steps, distance and calories consumed. Counts the number of steps taken walking or jogging up to 100,000 steps. Measures the distance covered while walking or jogging from 0.01 - 1,000 miles. Stride length can be set precisely in 0.25 foot intervals. Measures calories burned while walking or jogging from 0.1-10,000 kcal. Body weight can be set between 30 and 300 lbs. Large, easy to read display and easily operated buttons. Battery life approximately 3 years and it can be changed easily with a coin. Made in Japan by Yamax.

I have had a number of these devices over the years, mostly in an attempt to increase my activity as I enter old age. The first one broke and the second one was so complicated that I could not use it properly as everytime I tried to alter the time it reset the counter! This one is Japanese ( although made in China!)and unlike most Japanese gadgets is delightfully simple. You press the reset button and it resets. Just like that! It then counts your steps.It also gives a distance measure in miles and the number of calories represented by that level of activity. As I would say if I were an annoying little meerkat, simples!
If you want one of these, this one could be recommended highly. One note of caution, mine is calibrated in miles and feet ( you set your step distance in feet) and there does not seem to be a metric option which I think is rather a shame although fortunately I am bi-lingual in measurement being of a certain age!

Excellent pedometer in that it appears to be very accurate and is very easy to use. Saying that though, when I wore it pottering around the other day it hardly registered any activity whereas when I did a 'proper' walk it worked a treat, so I think if you want to wear something all day to measure your activity then you would be better looking for something else.

This pedometer is easy to set up. It is secure on the waistband not like others I have had that fall off if you bend over. It shows mileage,steps taken and calories burned. It is accurate, I have tested it with village signposts.
