Product Description

Manufacturer's Description

The Bad Monkey Tube Overdrive gives your amp a boost just when you need it. It has been compared to the TS-808 but with having the unique ability to smooth out the distortion by use of the low and high EQ controls. Most overdrive pedals give you one tone control knob thus limiting your tonal options. You asked for a pedal that will maintain your guitar’s distinct tone and DigiTech delivered. With its rugged design, separate mixer and amp outputs, and amazing tonal options, this pedal truly is a Bad Monkey. From Blues to Rock to everything in between, it will give you that amazing overdriven tube amp sound that will keep begging you to crank it up.

Wanted to get some tube sustain at low volume for practice at home. This beauty works great.
Fraction of the price of a Keeley Tube Screamer. Good solid construction with the bonus of 2 outputs, one for your amp the other as a DI to the mixer. Great pedal

I wasn't a big fan of stomp boxes, but this pedal scores points all round!I already had a Digitech delay pedal which I was seriously impressed with, but I was looking for a device which would give me plenty of boost for solo work, without colouring my guitar sound. This is it! Firstly, great value for money and excellent build quality. The pedal has loads more boost than I actually need.I did read a couple of reviews of different pedals but the Bad Monkey ticked all the boxes, over and above the opposition.Once I set it up to my liking,I didn't need to make any further adjustment.Hit the button and my guitars sing!
I would suggest buying a PSU for this pedal(I drained the battery pretty quick!)for reliability.
A great pedal at a great price and it does what it says on the tin!

I'm a bedroom player and cant really justify paying a fortune for effects pedals.

I play a fender roadhouse strat and wanted a pedal that would give me a boost for solos, that dirtied up the sound at an acceptable volume and this little gem does just that through a 30watt Line6 practice amp.

Its a super pedal that has far outstripped my expectations, the low and high controls give you endless opportunities to vary your tone, have a play it can do loads of things, but please remember this is not a distortion pedal, its not what its does. But if like me you love a bit of hendrix or SRV super thing to own on a budget.

Listen to SRV's Life without you - first solo or Texas Flood when he first kicks in with those sweet bends - I can get that sound and thats what I wanted,.

The 'Bad Monkey' is quite a pedal! I use it in conjunction with my Vox Tonelab, which I have set up to just be a stompbox. The use it as a booster pedal through which my guitar absolutely SINGS. The monkey can add a bit of fuzz, a little bite into your tone, or completely send it to the next level, overdrive-wise. It is a great booster pedal. Driven to around a 3 o'clock the Bad Monkey before I solo instantly adds a smooth, creamy sustain to my solos, resulting in an incredibly usable, middle-heavy tone that cuts through the mix. I love this pedal already!

An amazing little pedal and at a steal of a price. It's very well made and does everything it says on the box. I have been playing for 50 years or so and have had quite a few pedals. This one has a great range of sounds and does everything I could want it to do - perhaps not for those who are into thrash metal but for blues and general rock overdrive it is great. I prefer the valve overdrive sound of this through the clean channel of my Hiwatt valve combo to the dirty channel of the amp which is, in my opinion, a bit muddy. Buy one now before they change their mind about the price!

Amazing effects pedal for the price! I use this for gigging and it sounds the nuts!
Honestly gives an ibanez tube screamer a run for its money!
    Best digitech pedal by far

Quite simply the best value overdrive pedal of all time and a worthy (and equal) competitor to the hallowed Ibanez Tube screamer. It leaves the natural character of your sound in tact but adds that wonderful overdrive, going form a subtle push to all our rock mayhem! I believe it is one of the great pedals of all time regardless of price and an invaluable weapon in your sonic arsenal, especially if you are running through a valve amp (such as the incredible Blackstar HC-5 which this pedal is just perfect for)! I have bought a backup just in case they stop making these little gems. Buy it

Brilliant value for money. I've modified mine a wee bit, changing capacitors C1, C5 and C25 to alter the tone of the pedal.
