Good product 7 Mar 2009
I've been very pleased with these digital timers. They're easy to setup and use, and can be used for security (lights/radios coming on at set times) or energy efficiency (e.g. wireless router automatically switched off overnight when not needed). I've been using them for 6 months on a daily basis and they work just fine.

There are many choices for the timers, so you can have them come on for certain days, weekdays only, weekends only (lots of other combinations), and you can set several on/off switching periods e.g. weekdays at one time, weekends for another. There's even a "random" function (which I haven't used) which varies the switch-on times, for security purposes.

One useful touch is that they have an internal battery that keeps the clock at the correct time, so if there are any short power cuts while they're in use, their own clock is kept at the correct time. This means there's no risk of having things switch on/off at the wrong time after a power failure.

If the LCD isn't on when you first get them, make sure you charge the internal battery overnight then press the "master clear" button - this will switch them on.

They're a very good product, not exceptional though which is the only reason I didn't give them 5 stars. One very minor issue is that if you use the switch to move between "auto" and "manual off" or "manual on", if you switch back to "auto" nothing will change until the time moves "through" the next timer point. In other words, if they're set to switch on at 6pm and off at 12pm, and at 7pm you switch from manual off to auto, they won't switch on until the next day at 6pm. Not a big deal, but something to be aware of.

This item is just great, it is 13 Amp, so practically any household appliance works normally on it. Microwave, Electric oven , dish washer, dryer, just anything. It works just plug and play. The timer functionality is great for home automation, where you can set 8 timers each can switch on and off at a preset interval. The timer also can be set to run at specific days of the week, either weekdays, or weekends, whole week, Even weekdays, or odd weekdays, so it practically covers everything.
The unit looks nice, so you can keep it all the times in the socket.
Manual control of the socket is also possible by means of a button. So, by this you can always keep the unit connected, and control the socket from the switch.

Work just fine 2 Sep 2010
I needed these timers to turn uv lights and heat lamps on for a number of my reptiles incase I wasn't there to do it myself. The timers aren't perfect; somtimes they're around 10 minutes either side of the time they're programmed to turn on/off at, but it hardly matters. They do the job perfectly and there's a large range of settings you can use if you only need things turned on on certain days for example. They've certainly not melted as someone else claimed his had and as my animals are still alive I can't complain. They were easy to set up, taking only a few minutes for each one, though the instructions were in small text so I suppose they could be difficult for some people to read.

Good value
The timer seems to work very well and, for the price, represents quite good value. However, there was a confusing and disappointing aspect to this purchase. Read more

Fit for purpose
The timers do what they are designed to do and are relatively reliable. One of the three timers in the pack played up when first used, but quickly settled down. Read more

-ish
Only two of these work, but the two that work have been great. Easy to programme and change. Would have been five star if all three had worked!

Total Rubbish
Don't buy this rubbish, mine only lasted a few times as the automatic switch on of the timer failed and only the manual worked

All became faulty in a few weeks
Don't buy, all 3 became faulty. I bought them for table lamps. When on they flicked the light on and off continuously and made a clicking noise.
