Awesome book. Clear explanations, lots of example problems, Matlab hands-on. For me it's something in between of Proakis, Manoalakis which is pure math, and Lyons' book, which is great by the way, but has lots of unnecessary explanations and lacks examples.

Very good description of advanced digital filtering techniques 30 Dec. 2012

This book proved very helpful when we were facing a challenging digital filter design problem. Using the standard FIR / IIR design techniques from classic textbooks our team was obtaining very high order filters (for example, a FIR with thousands of coefficients), and the hardware adopted for the project could not cope with the high computational cost. The book guided the team to evaluate modern digital filtering techniques, which ended up making the project feasible. Very clear treatment of advanced digital filtering. It is also a great DSP textbook.
