Product Description

Remembering a bunch of passwords can be quite a pain, considering the amount of e-mail accounts, Bank accounts, social networking sites, and forums that one participates in every day. You can't just leave them on a text file on your Windows Desktop, making it privy to all and sundry and neither can you write it down in a small piece of paper lest it gets lost. What are you supposed to do then, considering all those above mentioned user accounts are mission critical? The answer lies in the Eikon Digital Privacy Manager. The Eikon Digital Privacy Manager provides a fingerprint authentication security solution thanks to the Eikon USB peripheral fingerprint reader coupled with the Protector Suite QL software. This solution enables you to retrofit this biometric authentication system onto an existing computer, greatly simplifying the different aspects of PC usage at the swipe of a finger. No longer do you need to cram your brain with a whole bunch of passwords when your humble fingerprint is enough to do the job.In fact, sensitive files can be encrypted and launched in different applications as long as you assign specific fingers for each one. The Eikon Digital Privacy Manager is compatible with Firefox, Windows Vista, and now Mac. Don't worry about having your fingerprint replicated - the fingerprint reader stores only mathematical data based on the uniqueness of a fingerprint, in shorts, a template that cannot be reverse engineered to reproduce the fingerprint image. The Eikon fingerprint reader won the prestigious Consumer Electronics Association (CES) Best of Innovations Award in 2007.

This small, stylish reader work well with any Firefox and Vista Ultimate 64 bit (software included with purchase), log on to windows (you are still able to login using a typed password if the reader fails), use online banking in fact login to almost anything with a swipe of your finger.

Gets the master fingers reading within 5 swipes, from then on, it reads your finger or fingers every time, almost without fail. Able to store username, passwords and any other details you want to keep secret. Just a swipe at any password protected site gets you logged on.

Because it's a swipe reader the fingerprint cannot be lifted and reused, unlike some other readers.

This device has saved time and frustration from not remembering my password for a site.

It has a small blue LED that flashes once every minute to let you know it's active, this LED lights through the name UPEK, unlike most permanent lit devices, i.e. Microsoft finger reader.

Oh, it has a protected folder too, just in case you want to keep secure details to hand (or to finger).

Get this one, you won't be disappointed, bought mine April 2008 use it everyday without fail.

fast delivery! Bank statememnt says "PTI region europe". Apparently its a common problem, has been refunded and apparently recharged tomorrow under "amazon".

Item is excellent. I bought it as i have the UPEK fingerprint reader built into my Dell M1330 and its superb in there. Remembers all passwords, makes logon a doddle!! Superb, and worth the money! grips well to the desk, doesnt move when i swipe my finger. Superb accuracy. Gets the recognition right 99/100 times. BUY ONE!

I had the finger print reader by Microsoft before, which I luved.

However the writers of the drivers digitalpersona didn't release 64 - bit.

So I will be using a 64 - bit operating system when windows 7 is released and decided as this has 64 - bit drivers then this is what

I would go for after reading reviews a year or so ago.

It's easy to setup and easier to install finger prints.

You just go to a log in page (after registering your prints) enter name and password, swipe your finger, dialog comes up with register and you click

it and you're done.

Though like amazon websites have different sections you can log into, you will have to set those up individually.

I also like that I set up my own vault on a partition which is in a password protected .rar file.

I added a shortcut to the quick launch, this (unlike the previously mentioned fingerprint reader) will treat it like a log in screen also.

I am very pleased with this product, it's a bit ugly, however it does what it says on the tin!

This is a fantastic little device - I wish I had found it sooner! It works perfectly with FireFox 3 (once you have installed the updated plug-in) - I never have to remember a login name and password again! Fantastic.

I have got it to work with password-protected Office 2007 files, my Vista login, and with TrueCrypt so far - amazing.

Not once has it miss-read my finger swipe.

I bought it from Useful World, and it was on my desk the next morning.

This product is absolutely fantastic for the following reasons.

1- Can be used with internet explorer or firefox.
2- Very easy to scan your fingerprint and no matter what anyone says it seems near impossible not to get the sensor to read your print.
3-It populates the fields and then signs you into the website, no need to hit enter.
4-It stores all of the websites which can be selected from a drop down list rather than having to navigate to the site (though you can do either)
5-It sets up a virtual volt on your computer where you can store files protected by the fingerprint.
6-It has a blue LED which looks real cool.
7-You can export the data to another computer using a flash drive so that you do not have to reenter the data again.

I cannot see any negative about this product other than it is not compatible with all other browsers.

All in all an amazing product which saves you time, worry and hassle by remembering all your usernames & passwords.

This will not work with Google Chrome as of it's last update. I write this as I use Chrome as my default browser as it is perfect for me but now the reader doesn't work and will never work as the company behind the Protector Suite software has been bought by Apple and currently there are no plans to release new firmware for the device. Therefore if you can ue it on IE or Mozilla for now, be prepared for it not to work in the future. Authentec/Upek whatever they were called no longer exist, check their website that is no longer there.

Avoid if you want future proof.

Oh and £99 is an absolute rip off, I only paid £30 something 5 years ago!!

Forget passwords! And it certainly does that! A great peace of kit to free up a little more space in our ever full brains! Work seamlessly and does what it says on the tin and more, It installed without a problem and was working within minutes. It works better than the Microsoft fingerprint reader when I used that with XP and then Vista 32. It did a better job of recognizing fingerprints. Oh and fast delivery too............Buy Buy Buy
