4.0 out of 5 stars A thorough and practical guide 25 Feb 2011
Format:Paperback
Still wading through this guide book but so far it has been a very thorough and well ordered guide to current digital technology. It's not specific to the camera I use and presents information specific to only one or two cameras, but it does try to suggest how each feature or function may be found/employed on most mid-range DSLR cameras. A weighty tome that you wont be carrying with you but a readable guide that you can dip into as needed.

5.0 out of 5 stars My dSLR fog has been totally blown away! 11 Feb 2012
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
When it arrived I thought I would be overwhemed by the sheer size of the tome but I quickly discovered that it is brilliantly engineered into bite-sized chunks that even I can understand. I read it in conjunction with my Nikon D5000 user manual and find it gives me an excellent understanding of the camera's abilities and potential. I am delighted with it.

Recommended for all owners of modern digital cameras. It covers all those bits that somehow get forgotten when we go out snapping. Well worth the money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Everything you need to know 12 Jan 2013
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
Purchased this for my son who had just treated himself to an SLR camera. He said he finds it a great help in finding his way around all the options this kind of camera affords. The thing about the "Dummies" series of books is that they start from the basics but do get to all the complicated stuff too, so don't be put of by the dummies part of the title.

4.0 out of 5 stars very helpful 6 Feb 2012
By Mark T
Format:Paperback
Apart from my personal preference of prefering the book being written in UK English not American, this has helped me get my head around the DSLR camera world. I'd recommend it for beginners.
